Kristin I could sit and watch you create these rock beauties all day long and listen to your very calming voice. You have an awesome talent and you use it for good and that says a lot about you as a person. I need a hobby to do so badly as I suffer from grief and depression and a few other health issues as well. I lost my only grandchild in 2014 to a drunk driver who was 3X's the legal limit and my life hasn't been the same since. My husband and I raised him as our very own because our daughter just couldn't get her life straight to be a mother until about 12 months before the crash happened. So I tell folks that we didn't only lose a grandson but rather we lost a son as well and our sweet precious little boy was only 4 years old and he was such a happy little boy too. The only comfort I get is just knowing I will see him again one day soon and everything will be made right and I won't ever have to be without him in my life again. Where do you find/buy your beautiful rocks you use when you do rock painting? Maybe one day soon I'll get brave enough to give it my best shot and try to create something pretty. Thank you again for being so giving of your time and talent for those that either just love to watch or those that are here to learn from the master so to speak. God bless you always Kristin and your awesome creations. Take care!!

Someone said to get them at a landscaping place. They have beautiful round stones for less than anyone and certainly easier than trying to find river rocks in nature. Prayers for peace and comfort. I know you are going through a difficult time but like you said, you will be reunited with him one day.

You're very talented and I like your interpretation of the colors. The details are gorgeous! I have but one time used paints, so may I ask a few questions? * Why do you need a pouring medium? Is the paint is too thick? * What is the name of the substance you are using to make the paint thick enough so it doesn't slide down the side of the rock? * Are you sealing the rock before painting the design and if so, with what? Only a black paint? * Can you use the same paint for glass as you do for rocks? Thanks in advance for your time answering questions and also for the video.
@aishvaryatiwari54144 жыл бұрын
Ekim Yazici I’ll try answering them for you * Yes, the acrylics in tube are thick. Also they dry super fast & are expensive. So for better flow & less wastage. * You can use any good acrylic medium. * Yes, black acrylic paint coating is sufficient for coverage. * Yes the same paints work very well on glass.

If you find a small turntable or lazy susan, you can hot glue a glass or votive candle holder to it. A few drops of hot glue around the rim of your glass and it will provide a nonslip grip for your rocks as well.

It has been a few years i first saw this dotting art on Etsy. I was (and still am) mesmerised by this simple idea and yet so effective. In all the videos i watched no one is talking about the preparation of the stone itself. Where do you get them? they are all so almost perfectly rounded. Do you apply the basic coat under the black satin layer? Have you ever tried other backgrounds than black? Thank you.
@Jana-TheCraftyGambler5 жыл бұрын
After watching just about every video out there on dot painting, and trying my hand at it, I discovered that there are better paints than others to use. Of course the paints I have, are really to thin. But I don't want to spend an arm and leg to replace them just yet. I can use them for other thing The medium that you are using, is that what I would use to thicken them up? I love your work and I really want to master this technique.

Thank you so much for doing these amazing videos for us. I have a question where do you get your stone's from and what are they called they are all so perfectly smooth and oval do you buy them in bulk? I live in Indiana know have seen people get them near water but have no idea where to start here. Appreciate if you could let me know want to start making them. I have saved hundreds of videos most are yours because you explain everything so well and tell us exactly what to use to create our own. So many do a fast videos no talking nothing in the comments what they used. So truly appreciate your kindness for taking time out of your busy life to do these for us. Keep forgetting to ask you where you get your stone's. THANK YOU SO MUCH IF YOU COULD LET ME KNOW. 😃 ❤

Hello! Gorgeous! Absolutely amazing!! I must give this a try! Can you tell me, what is the purpose of the Liquitex Pouring Medium I noticed you blended into your paints? Is that what keeps the acrylic paints looking wet and glossy when dry?? In my limited experience with paints they always look more matt or chalky when they dry. Any suggestions?
@jennyswartzbaugh94 жыл бұрын
The pouring medium actually makes the paint more fluid and less thick when you dot it. I've found that certain whites are very thick/viscous and remain raised after you dot them, and then they actually can crack when they dry. If you're into rock painting, I would suggest looking up pouring rocks, where you also use the pouring medium, to make beautiful fluid designs! That and mandalas are my current favorites in the rock painting world right now!
@Hahnemaniac6 жыл бұрын
What does pouring medium do? I guess it dries clear? I would have thought it would dilute the color, but it doesn't! Weird stuff!

maybe someday there will be a paint option of similar properties that is not harmful to the environment. "Some of the commonly added acrylic mediums also release formaldehyde as they dry....Propylene glycol, for example, is safe enough for use in the food and cosmetic industry, but has a disastrous effect in aquatic environments, meaning that pouring acrylic waste water down the drain is damaging to waterways."
