How to Paint: High Marshal Helbrecht: Black Templars

Andy back again with the man himself. The one, the only, Helbrecht. He is here to lead your Black Templars army in glory, or can be used just as a one off display piece to paint for fun! In this tutorial you'll learn how to quickly paint Helbrecht and the side models so you can begin your crusade as soon as possible. When Rogal Dorn failed to defend the Emperor aboard the Vengeful Spirit, he smashed his sword across his knee and it shattered into pieces. Sigismund gathered those pieces and they were reforged into the Sword of the High Marshals to be wielded by every future High Marshal of the Black Templars. This is the sword Helbrecht wields.

Your colour for him really looks like the art in the codex. Great job Helbrecht is described as wearing shining gold armour and leading from the front, inspiring his men and daring his enemy to challenge him.

@@MediocreHobbies I’ve finally got the model now and am going to use much of your method. Helbrecht’s sword btw is a passed down relic from the heresy, it’s the reforged shards of Dorn’s sword

I love this model, and he looks fantastic. When I finally get to him I'll definitely be using your techniques. One of my favorites. Sooo much death guard to get through first. Stupid ugly/beautiful Mortarian.

Great work. I now plan on doing this to my own Helbrecht once I add him to my Black Templar army. Do you think this would work for painting the bronze armor on Space Marines from the mighty Minotaurs chapter?
