@@PumpkinHoard As he said though; black in nature (and most objects) is not actually black. It's a collection of hues that result in too many "colors" to be an actual color and a near complete loss of value.

I am starting a Black Templars army and I have watched this video an unhealthy amount of times. This is by far the best Black Templar paint job I have ever seen. All I can hope for is to at least get my black paint right ^^

Came back to this vid January 22 after looked at two respected painter's vids that purported to be painting black without it being painted into being grey instead. They were very grey. Very. Sadly this will be an extremely disappointing video 😅😅😅 I paint for work and this doesn't leave a lot of time for personal projects. Plus I sell or give away most of what I paint and my Warmachine armies and all the resin kits and mechs remained in Italy when I moved to Ireland.... My whole personal collection now is inside a small army box 😅

Very inspirational, I have been painting miniatures for almost a year now and love it, constantly trying to challenge myself to get better and get out of my comfortzone. That cloth on the back and the red glow light are both next level in terms of how they add visual interest. Fantastic result and very reusable on many other armies/models.

Bam! I'd watch an NJM video if Marco said he's going to decorate a cake with Chinese glue and some gunk he found under his refrigerator. I just know I'll learn lots of amazing things, and the time spent watching is my moment of zen for the week. I had no previous interest in Black Templars, and that was the most amazing video since the color wheel one blew my mind. I'm not a trained artist, and I don't have an intuitive feel for colors and light, so when I say 'mind blown', I'm speaking in subtleties and understatement. Thank you Marco. P.S. Your delivery style is the best of any video creator I follow. This, and all your videos, are always thoroughly enjoyable.

This is just brilliant. I've tried the same kind of scheme but working exclusively with cold colors in the airbrush to give off a "black steel" kind of vibe (also because i like blue, dabadee dabada). Great tutorial, very clear instructions and the result is just awesome. Thanks a lot!

He is amazing! He is the reason I now use alot of oil on my minis. I think he is the reason why so many people now use them even on KZbin. When he started it was hard to find videos on it outside of some old video's on a bust or two and of course Vince also had some old video's on oil paints they were also great.
