It's snowstorm today feb 17, 2022 in Wichita Kansas so yes, I was able to watch this incredible hydrangea painting. Thanks for sharing.

I've watched this for so many times before but did not have the confidence to paint because it looked so hard to do. But today I finally gave in, and I'm so happy with the results! I will never get tired of watching your tutorials, Shayda! You are a gem for beginners like us! 🌸

These are so pretty! It took me, like, 2 tries just to get it right, and most other tutorials take about 4 tries! You teach watercolor so well! It makes so much sense and it is all so friendly! Thank you! Can you paint a watercolor stargazer lily next?

I looked through all the comments and nobody who gave it a thumbs down had the nerve to leave a comment. Maybe they are just too lazy. As for me, I love your videos and have also been binge watching them ever since I discovered your channel. Keep up the good work! I’m trying to learn as much as I can so I can get up the nerve to use all the brushes and paints and paper I’ve accumulated over time. Eeek!

I am so glad I found your videos! You explain what you are doing with the brush in each step, how much paint and water you are using on the strokes, and let us know how dry/wet the surface is for layering - basically all the stuff a watercolorist needs to know that you can't really infer just by watching a speed-paint or being shown how to do ind. washes. I've been working on floral pen and ink and watercolor peices, but I really struggle with (demensionality? perspectives) in my flowers and leaves. I tend to always do top-down views of flowers and struggle to do side profile, 3/4 view, or do large bunches or bushes with flowers and buds popping out at all angles.
@paintingtheskykingdom90054 жыл бұрын
thank you for going over how you do the leaves so well, this helps a lot as I never seemed to be able to get mine to look realistic. Your mixture of controlling the water and then letting it do its own thing is the difference (as well as explaining when to let go and when to paint details)

My goodness, you're an excellent teacher! I've never painted with watercolors before in my life and I really believe I could do this. It won't be perfect, but at least it won't be awful. I've always wanted to learn how to paint with watercolors so I'm subscribing. Thank you for making sense of it all. ~ Lisa

Hi Shayda, I want to paint the hydrangeas on wood. Do you recommend the style for this please and paint. I'm 69 and haven't painted in years so very rusty on technique. I have watched other tutorials and they certainly don't even compare with your guidance. Well done. Much appreciated Rosemary (Perth Western Australia)

Hi! You should really talk about how you've mixed your colors and be clear about your steps, other than that this is a good tutorial. I was just confused at the beginning.
