I've never painted a miniature in my life and yesterday I subbed to the DRPA. I have a sickness, and the only medicine is watching Duncan paint the tiny men.

I really like that he can use the army painter stuff now, especially the wet palette in other videos, much better habits for ppl than just using gw/citadel stuff... not that they’re bad products, but it just lets new painters know they can use whatever is available to them

I’m a pretty experienced painter at this point, Duncan’s vids helped me get back into the hobby years ago. I now regularly paint in more advanced styles, but I always come back to Duncan (and sub to DPRA) because when I want to get minis onto the Battlefield fairly quickly and looking good, Duncan always has the best tips!

@@DuncanRhodesDRPA Yea, I appreciate the help with the white especially. I apply a lot of what I learn here to other miniatures (I don't play AOS. It's not my bag). I also really appreciate how good you are at showing the consistency of the paint when its at the correct levels. I also hadn't seen that Bronze on display, and it's definitely making me switch from using Balthasar Gold in my mixup to get the Bronze I want for them. That's not anything involving painting technique, it's just the right colour of Bronze damn it. lol

I love your Warhammer tutorials ever since I started watching WarhammerTV to help paint my Imperial Guard army. Do you think you can do more historical figures like the legionary? I tried this white armour recipe on a Stormcast but they're quite round and fiddly in certain parts and it doesn't look as good as on flat surfaces. What's a good way to get this same cold result but on Stormcast?

@@kampfeule5486 Don't open the lid fully wide, there's no need to bend the lid right back. That way you don't get it dripping onto the rim or the hinge of the lid. I've never had the clogging thing that others complain of and, as the lids continue to close properly, the paint doesn't dry out..... or create a spectacular mess when you shake the pot!

@@kampfeule5486 A good shake (with the lid closed tight) or a stir with an old brush for paints with thick pigment. Sometimes, a ball bearing (416 stainless steel ). These have worked for me for many, many years 😊

Looks fantastic! How would you varnish this mini for use on the tabletop? I typically use a matt spray, but it really dulls down the metallic shine, which wouldn't be great for this armor.

Hi lupus. We like to use the following as they are pretty good and affordable: 1. Army Painter Regiment Brush, detail brush and Monster brush. 2. From Citadel we like to use a medium Layer, Medium base, small layer and a drybrush (could use AP drybrushes too.) And if you have some money to invest in a brush, look for a Windsor Newton Series 7 for detail work. Oh, and don't forget to take care of your brushes and they will last you a long time 😊

Hey Duncan! I've noticed that my Nuln oil dries excessively shiny, almost as shiny as my Nuln oil gloss. Is this normal? It's gotten to the point where I'd rather thin down abbadon black or black templar rather than use Nuln oil.
