Equipment List for Today's Painting: I'm using Millford brand cold pressed watercolour cotton paper, weight 140lb, size a quarter imperial. My colours today are: Indigo Genuine, Venice Red, Yellow Ochre, and Cyprus Burnt Brown, from the Wild Earth Collection by Davidson's Pigments Hand-Made paints (my very own paints, mixed and made by hand!! So exciting!) My brushes today are: a Daler Rowney Aquafine 'Skyflow' flat 2 inch wash brush; an Escoda Ultimo synthetic mop brush size 10; a Pro Arte 'Sword' liner brush size Small; a Princeton Neptune synthetic no. 4 round brush; a Pro Arte 'Masterstrokes' Series 60 miniature brush size 2/0; and a Daler Rowney fan brush size 2. I also use regular table salt for the effects in this painting, as well as Pebeo drawing gum.
I hope you enjoyed the video, folks! Any questions or comments, please drop them below; and happy painting, all!

It was a real treat to watch a video of more than 50 seconds not have a dreaded add break. But the real joy is seeing you create, and the gentle voice to carry the commentary. I can't help it, this painting reminds me a lot of a wonderful story set in Hampshire. You may know it, it's called 2Watership Down". good amount of the untamed plant life in Hampshire is in low lying pasture where water gathers freely, and teasels grow unbidden in such places. Just like the one a mere 200 yards from my home. I used to walk our dogs in that floodplain, until a nature overseer stood chatting with me for about 30 mins. During that natter he informed me that there's a growing population of tics. 2 different species of them. That was the last time our dogs went there. We only have one dog now, and she wasn't around at the time. I would take my time over there in those days. There were regular visits from big white egrets, and I couldn't let opportunities like those go by without getting some photos.. On the down side, I haven't seen a single newt since then either. Very much loved the demo, and seeing your skill grow with the passing of time. Always impressed with what you create, but it looks like it's getting easier for you. Top notch dear heart. I saw my darling wife laying on the couch the other day, and thought I'd paint what I see. That didn't last to long. The lovely soft brushes we employ for watercolours tickled her, and she wriggled about a bit. That's not the bad bit, when she noticed all the burnt sienna running down her side, I got a proper telling off for my efforts .... Hehehe Not really. Just wanting to make you smale. TTFN sweet lady.

Dear morgaine, this is gorgeous. The colours are so warming for an autumnal scene. I love teasels as they attract lots of birds feeding on their seeds. Thank you so much for showing and for all your tips and advice . Much appreciated. Your brushes make light work of all those lovely grasses and seedheads 😊 The salt gives it a lovely frosty feel.

Very nice! Interesting details. As a side, you must have a nice assortment of vegetation outside the window. Songbirds, very soothing for both the observer and the artist. 👍
