Purely by accident but the drip makes it look like a church or some type of building at the end of the painting. Very cool.

Dear Anastasia, this is stunning.So interesting to watch you use brushes and paints you wouldn't normally use. Thankyou for showing us all your wonderful tips and techniques. This is true art . No gimmicks just art from the heart ❤️ Love the colours and everything about it . Its funny isn't it what the eye can see and i almost saw a church with its tall spire fading into the misty background on the left of the sun , magical, hope to see more of these.

Thank you so much for such a lovely comment, and for watching my videos. I am always fascinated by how we all see different things in paintings - I love that you saw a church's spire. I can see its shape too now. Watercolour is such a magical medium - it can create "for" us. Looking at these shapes and passages of colour created by the paint and the water always feels like going on a little adventure.

Hello Anastasia, as always your creativity is so refreshing and appreciated!. The colors you use have become your signature, though I was a bit distracted by the sense that the tree was not anchored, as though it is floating. Am I wrong or was it intentional?.❤
@AnastasiaMily
@AnastasiaMily 11 ай бұрын
Thank you so much! Since it is a semi-abstract scene not everything would make sense or look realistic. But I must say the tree looks pretty anchored to me here, with the roots extending and the ground being darker around the tree. I didn’t think of it when I was painting it though, I just followed the value range and the colours. Love your question, it made me stop and think.

I love your channel! So peaceful and relaxing to watch, and I love the music, too. I'm wondering if you would be willing to provide a list of substitute colors for those of us who don't have some of the ones you use. That would be lovely!
@AnastasiaMily
@AnastasiaMily 7 ай бұрын
Thank you so much, I am so glad you are enjoying my videos 😊 Substitute colours can be tricky as there are so many brands and so many options and one brand’s Indigo can look different to another brand’s, etc… Also some colours granulate and some don’t. I’d say if you just use a similar-looking hue from your own collection of colours it should work!

I find that I have to rush while doing wet in wet and then it doesn't turn out at all. I know you said you use Baohong paper. I am using paper from walmart, North Shore 140 lb. I don't know if it is 100% cotton or not, it doesn't say. I did order some Baohong paper. Do you think this is a huge issue for me? When I wet it with the spray bottle it doesn't seem to go the I want. Anyway, I still love your work and have followed your tutorials, bit failed miserably. I am going to try the new paper once it gets here. Thanks for your amazing work. Ben
@AnastasiaMily
@AnastasiaMily 6 ай бұрын
Hi Ben. Thank you for watching my videos. I am sorry to hear that you didn't get the results you were hoping for and I do think that it is, indeed, the type of the paper you are using. We don't have Walmart here in Australia so I am not familiar with that particular paper but I looked it up and it is most likely cellulose (wood pulp) paper and not cotton. Watercolour behaves very differently on different surfaces and I find that cotton paper (cold press or rough finish) is the only surface for me that can handle a lot of water and paint. Wood pulp paper is good for controlled wet on dry washes or for mixed media work. Professional quality cotton paper is amazing for loose wet into wet washes. I have used a lot of Meeden Academy cotton paper blocks and they are really good (it is actually Baohong paper) www.amazon.com/MEEDEN-Cotton-Watercolor-Textured-Surface/dp/B07C6J7ZT6/ref=sr_1_2_sspa?crid=3KL4CJSQ8WXXK&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.RgMOspsYNRX1-DGTREzyH3-IWYQvhWBqGBnegPjs_mz_9ROb3UjLw8GqHOdb1XmUXp9WNlRq6Hb_1_qwCPpBAU3ah3jZd3IXaFS-vAuiRykBwMEy1VFF7oFN7az9t2KzTKdsYCClB4xsdC-HQahzXMLw7NcjXJ7qkGkfvsyCQzlmTCoZOGUY2bjPzIvYd0PS01kVsuFb45nohWw341A-cvD6cIBlL4-d8QLskfNHBKg.az6EYS2bWm_zgWcyajagh4Bk53l-Ys7-FABR2iOXtAY&dib_tag=se&keywords=meeden%2Bwatercolor%2Bpaper&qid=1705353835&sprefix=meeden%2Bwa%2Caps%2C449&sr=8-2-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9hdGY&th=1 The cold press is only slightly less textured and bright than the professional quality Baohong cold press, and it was pretty much the only difference.
