Now that is an interesting technique! Thank you for sharing! :D

You make it look easy. My Uncle made many on the backs of mirrors. Sometimes using the mirror as frame, sometimes designing the mirror as subjects in the painting. Of course he was an exceptionally talented man.

Oh man this is great. This is exactly the technique I was looking. It gave me a great idea for painting the back of my aquarium. Thank You.

Beautiful! Did you have to learn how to reverse your signature? Also, would this technique work with gouache and what prep needs to be done on the glass prior to painting besides the usual cleaning.

Hi Lynne. I did have to learn to reverse my signature. I'm not sure how gouache would respond to the glass. I use Liquitex acrylic. To prep the glass I use a razor blade to scrape, then Windex. Make sure it is dry before you start!

I started reverse painting on glass. I have used old wooden windows etc. I have sold many of them. The problem is that they break. I have since done them on plexiglass. I am still lamenting one of my favorite paintings on glass accidentally being broken..

Sorry about that lost painting, Bob. Good idea with the plexi!

If you’re able to put it back together, maybe it would look cool. Perhaps the glass being shattered would add to the painting

When the glass condensates does it ruin this type of paint?
@johnlepard42462 жыл бұрын
I imagine it would ruin it if the back of the glass got wet in any way because I use acrylic paint. I seal the back, but I would not recommend displaying something like this out of doors.
@theoryofpersonality14202 жыл бұрын
@@johnlepard4246 that's what I was wondering. If it were sealed would that protect it. Have you thought of using one shot paint?
@theoryofpersonality14202 жыл бұрын
@@johnlepard4246 what if you sealed it with an oil paint like rustoleum? I wonder if it would be water resistant then.
@johnlepard42462 жыл бұрын
@@theoryofpersonality1420 It might. I'm not sure how that would affect the acrylic paint.

I think I'd like your videos but I can never hear what you're saying completely, even with volume maxed out, because you talk way too soft.
