Great stuff! Thank you. I've been following your process from the Aggressor for my army, and yeeeeup, it takes a while. But I do like the result. I'll definitely give this a go, too! Oil washes are game changer. I'm always so impressed by how smoothly you make the paint go onto the miniature. What brushes do you use?

You mention this is is 'tweak' in approach better suited to tanks et al. Would you literally mimic this approach on a tank/vehicle? So just the Salamander Primer & then onto the details? Ace video by the way, super informative & well paced. Thanks
@ThePaintingCoach4 ай бұрын
Yeah 100 do it that way 👍🏻 if you want to build up a bit of gradient, you can prime black first and then layer up the green spray too
@mykeesmith18634 ай бұрын
@@ThePaintingCoach Terrific, thank you. Just on the gradient point, lots of different ways to describe the same thing, do you mean like a 'Zenithal' type priming approach for green on black?
@ThePaintingCoach4 ай бұрын
Yes basically - so prime it black and the slowly build up the green so you get a fade to a darker green on the bottom and more of a solid green on the top

Great video ! Unfortunately I'm in France so no Colourforge for me and have no airbrush 😢. Do you plan to do a video on salamanders vehicules ? Those big flat panels and co are tricky sometimes to have a good result. Thanks for the video and again awesome job ! PS: I tried army painter greenskin and the results were meh at best, not smooth. surface.

What's the benefit of the oil wash vs nuln oil?

Oil wash is quicker and has a bit more weight to it versus the new nuln oil

@@ThePaintingCoach thanks Painting Coach. Just followed you on the gram too. I'm gonna use this guide. Is there a ratio of oil to spirit?

Love this tutorial as someone who is just starting to paint my pile of grey shame from the indomitus and leviathan box sets. For the bases, what colours did you use, this is exactly the colour scheme I’m looking to go for above the standard black lava bases everyone usually goes for? Thanks in advance.
@ThePaintingCoach11 ай бұрын
Glad it's helpful! The base is - I think - martian iron earth. It's the red base paint that ISN'T the one that crackles. The when that was dry I washed it with reikland fleshshade. When that was dry I dry brushed it with Jokaero Orange and then Lugganath Orange
@neillukins73511 ай бұрын
Awesome, will give that a try, thanks.
@TheBroGamer1408211 ай бұрын
so wait. I can't make a wash with just thinner and paint? What kind of oil would I need? I imagine cooking is a nono lol. Checked an online store and found stuff like turpentine, linseed, "stand". some of em are listed under "gamblin" and "grubacher" Either way, this is a great tutorial. Am planning on painting a salamander of my own for a Deathwatch kill team so this should prove to be very useful later on.
@ThePaintingCoach11 ай бұрын
So the oil you are looking for is pil paint - winsor and newton is an example - you can also use something like panel liner which is enamel. You can also use black paint thinned with water, or an acrylic wash
