I think Aggressors are one of our best units, though they are pretty bad for other chapters. Salamanders have a few strategems that make them pretty powerful. You have the max shot strategem, mortal wound strat, the overwatch strat, and they have a strat to shoot their flamers as pistols. Paired with the Apothecary, they have been MVPs in most of my battles.

I find that from my years of playing marines that you should pick units you like and suit your army theme. My salamanders are mostly all gravis armour because I think it suits my heavy assault force theme

@@Rob-fn1kp I mainly use a mixture of gravis infantry such as 5 aggressors, 3 five man squads of heavy intercessors, a squad of plasma inceptors, gravis captain for warlord, primaris bike chaplin and apothecary. In addition to a number of tanks. I left out a flew things as I can't remember my entire list, but I gives the general idea of the lists composition.

Great video! I think the Deathwatch box by far is one of the best pick up for any marine army that needs some intercessors to fill troop slots. This certainly helps new players since there can be so much decision paralysis with so many factions for Marines and so many different boxes to choose from.

Really love to see Salamander players give insight on how to play them and what to run in their opinion. You dont see a lot of it on YT. I just recently started my custom Salamander army and am starting with a 500 point list. Well technically starting with killteam with an intercession squad but that not 40k though haha. I cant find any flamer aggressors anywhere, only the ones with machine guns and stuff like that. Where can I find more flamer and melta troops? I really wanna start as the Salamanders, if not, I may go with the Ultramarines.

Aggressors with the machine guns are the same model, you just don't put the missile rack on top of their head, and instead of the machine gun arms, you give them the flamer arms.

@@PatTriesAgain they are the same sprue. You just have to choose the right option when assembling them. Look up aggressors on GW website and read the description. It'll say something like "alternatively can be built as Flamestorm Gauntlet Aggresssors"

Good information here. However, almost all patrol boxes and the 500 point starter army points are all miscalculated. With the video targeted towards new players could consider updating the description with the correct point values to avoid confusion for anyone. Thanks for the content

Well its quite easy! Salamanders don't exist in 10th, soooo play whatever you want and paint them green! There is a total of 2 HQ units that can only be used by Salamanders, 1 of which is fine to use and the other one is complete thrash.

When it comes to value, the Combat Patrol boxes are the best bang for your buck. Buying stuff individually will usually see you get 30¤ less models for the same price. In other words, if you cannot afford the whole box in one go, you would be better off just saving up the money to afford it. The only real alternative is to check local facebook groups or ebay to see if anyone is selling the models you want at a larger discount.

If you are new to Space Marines then its okay. 20 Intercessors are way more than you would ever need the way the game is now. At full price i probably wouldn't bother getting it personally.

What about the Honoured of the Chapter box specifically for Salamanders? I know it's pricey but it has nice models and most of them seem to fit the Salamanders? Like the Bladeguard Veterans, Eradicators, Chaplain. I don't know about the Judiciar and the Bladeguard Ancient but at least they look cool as well. Also nice video, could you do one for Raven Guard?
