Thank you for still painting with a brush and not an airbrush...like so many these days...great tutorials for all of us novice painters without an airbrush! Greedings from Greece!

My personal preference for the bones are Ceramite white base and Seraphim sepia as a shade. Try it out and see what you think.

Grey Hunters do not wear a yellow pauldron, they wear a Red and Black Pattern on their right pauldron. Yellow (with Red) is for Blood Claws/Sky Claws who are not allowed to use Bolters yet. The same goes for Long Fangs who have White and Black, as well as Wolf Guard who use Black and Yellow

Thanks for the info. I don't collect space wolves and I had no Idea how they define their patterns and insignia. But its good to know. Thanks for the comment!

I wasnt trying to put you down but that is an important part of painting SWs, like changing the tactical colors of Ultramarines to denote company
@anyeri9 жыл бұрын
well, wolf guard can equip bolters too, it is a odd election for a wolf guard, but its possible to them to carry one

I checked around for the grey primer you used but couldn't find it. Is it just a car primer or is it the one that works for rust? I even checked the rust-oleum site but it wasn't much help.

hi, for the shade step, do you think that agrax earthshade could do the work as weel as the drakenhof nigthshade?

Mine keep coming up, "cartoonish". I use thin layers, but they come out cartoon coloured. Are there colours in the game colour ranage, that match these colours?
@thedambuster35798 жыл бұрын
Question. Not trying to pull an R-Card here, but what paints should we use and how should we layer them if we want to use, per say, a... dark skin tone?
@ShenaniganZone8 жыл бұрын
+Thedambuster any acrylic paint will work. if someone tells you to buy a certain brand of paint they are stupid. some people will tell you that you can only use warhammer brand or some other miniature brand paint, thats because they dont know how to mix paint. paint is paint is paint. only perk of buying the brands is they have names that match specific colors so its like paint by numbers, find name, use that paint, find the next name so on. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Color_mixing this will teach you the basics. dont be a noob and paint by numbers, all your minis will end up looking like every other persons and i bet you would like it if yours looked cooler and with practice it will look much better

Is there any chance to paint SW without having to buy 40 different colors?
@ShenaniganZone8 жыл бұрын
+Васил Мирчев ya learn how to mix paint.. with red blue yellow white and black you can make any color (other than metallics )
@vasilmirchev45558 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I think i managed to paint some wolves with ~10 colors.
@ShenaniganZone8 жыл бұрын
Васил Мирчев you can also get acrylics with metal flake (gold or silver) that has clear gel like acrylic. add that to any color you mix to make it a metallic color without changing its hue. here is an amazon link to show you some www.amazon.ca/Sargent-Art-22-1110-8-Ounce-Acrylic/dp/B004O7FWRQ/ref=sr_1_fkmr1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1453907373&sr=8-1-fkmr1&keywords=clear+acrylic+with+metallic+flake i hope this helps you on your mini painting adventures.

Im currently using Tamiya silver and that's it. I have a mix of GW, Lifecolor and other brands. I think the results are really lovely and your guide helped me a lot.
@brigandboy14256 жыл бұрын
So far, I've needed a silver, two golds, one yellow, one wash, one white, one black, one red, and three grays. That's 11 paints total. You can get fancier, but since that is already like $55 if you buy the citadel stuff, it's entirely up to you. That was sufficient for me to paint the models with no fur and no skin showing. As for those that have skin and fur, add another 3-4 colors for skin, then add another 2-3 colors for fur.

@dorantana19 жыл бұрын
Are you getting the yellows in single coats? How are you doing that?
@TheApatheticFish9 жыл бұрын
dorantana1 No. yellow is a hard color to cover. using a good basecoat before which covers beter and is close to the yellow you are going to use usually helps it being easier but you will usuallly need three or more coats
@dorantana19 жыл бұрын
Okay, I was just wondering. In the video you did not mention it. I knew there had to be more coats used haha. Nice job on the model!
@tylerfields67247 жыл бұрын
I used the primer you used and it made the models grainy and rough. Is that normal?
@TheApatheticFish7 жыл бұрын
Depends how much. it should give a little texture. have you watched my video on priming models? I explain there how it should be done but most primers if you don't apply them correctly can ruin a model. It has happened to me before. But rustoleum is thicker. you have to apply it very lightly but the same is true with all primers you don't want to overprime even if it is a quality expensive primer.

what kills me about the Wolves is that vikings wear a lot of leather and brown and black. whoever came up with their paint scheme was way off.
@Luciffrit10 жыл бұрын
Look up Viking clothing. Most ancient people valued colours.
@Dimes60710 жыл бұрын
they did but those were expensive. the average warrior wore furs and leather. his shield was red and yellow or red and white etc...
@Luciffrit10 жыл бұрын
Dyed clothes weren't expensive. Elaborate clothes were. They wore a lot of wool and linen actually. Gambeson, Lamellar, Heavy woolen clothing or Mail armour were the mainstay.
@Dimes60710 жыл бұрын
depends on the color of dye
@Forrestgonsalves10 жыл бұрын
I think the idea was to imitate a an icy blue color, like snow. Im not disagreeing with you, but I can see where they came up with it.
