I am a fellow photorealism guy myself and I have to say, I really respect and admire not only you're ability and subject matter, but your giving teaching lessons and advice freely to others. You're not a time-lapse of "look what I can do!" kind of person. You're a good dude. There are some of us left, that just want to paint and or draw because the Sun rises and sets. I didn't mean for that to rhyme. I'm not some artist dynamo over here.

Hi Andrew, thank you so very much for your thought-provoking and very encouraging words. It is comforting to know there are other like-minded artists out there as yourself. We have to carry the torch even if it is just a few in the next generation will pick up where we left off.

That would definitely be a difficult thing to do, but worth it. Questions are meant to be answered. I watch this video over and over. It's great.

Had to watch it again for the night. Your painting is better than the reference. I come from a graphite and conte portrait background. I've been working with the airbrush to bring more life to the work. Have a ways to go to master this tool. The music in your video is calming also. This is very well put together. I can't give you enough credit. The size is cool too. Most you see are windshield size. It demonstrates your skill all the more.

Lovely little portrait and a great way to demo the paints. Tim... Does your airbrush ever clog up? I'm for ever getting tip dry especially with white.
@TimothyJohnLukeSmithPSA6 жыл бұрын
Hi Ken, great to see you! Thank you for your encouragement always!! Yes, white and other opaque colors clog often. My advice is to thin them with reducer to the consistency of skim milk and increase the PSI just a bit. Let me know if this helps.

Timothy John-Luke Smith, PSA Usually reduce the paints... It's tip dry that is my problem... Maybe it's the British weather😁 as some days I can spray for hours with no problem other days a couple of minutes... Same paint, same brush and well cleaned... I have been experimenting with some extender that seems to help... My airbrush is a harder and steenbeck infinity for detail work which works really well... tip dry aside.... and a Badger 105 with fine, medium and large needles which I use for thicker paints. I have been lusting after a micron sb2 after seeing you and Craig Fraser using one... Luckily I now have the budget for one so have placed an order... Couple of weeks for delivery. Thanks Ken I

Hi Ken, you are going to love the CM-SB. A beautiful line with that.18 fluid head nozzle combination. It is a specialist. The CM-C Plus and the Eclipse brushes are the versatile ones. Let me know if you have any questions about the CM-SB if the arise.

Heath, thank you very much for your encouraging comment! In this painting, I am working on a smooth wood panel treated with Gesso. I usually work with a more textured surface though.
