A tip i use to split the backing off of all kinds of adhesive paper is. I take two small pieces of tape and apply to each side of the frisket at a corner. Then slowly pry apart which is very very easy.... Love the music to this tutorial Tim... good job with this one.

im new to airbrushing and am curious about erasing. is it a normal pencil eraser? does it remove the india ink as well as the pencil lines . Thanks!
@TimothyJohnLukeSmithPSA5 жыл бұрын
Hi Lance, Thank you so much for checking out my video and for your great question. Yes, there are a number of different erasers that I use depending on the surface and the type of and the amount of paint on the surface. The Mono zero eraser, I use for pencil lines and soft paint erasing. the next most common us the Perfection7058B eraser by Faber Castell. Please check out some of my recent live streams, you'll see me use them in depth. Please feel free to ask any questions. I have a Live Stream every Wed Night at 9:30 PM EDT

What method do you use to transfer the drawing to the board?
@TimothyJohnLukeSmithPSA5 жыл бұрын
Hi Buddy, On this piece, it was a very smooth masonite panel. I usually don't like surfaces that are as slick as this one.

so, im re watching this video a i have sketched out a drawing, and am ready to try out the indian ink underpainting.. did you erase ALL the graphite from the face at this stage ? dont see how you kept the fine details, eye, lips fine ear lines etc ? also, im my drawing, there is dark hair to the left and right behind the models face ( its a full front view) do i cut out the frisket just on the face, then do the hair after to get a clean edge ? thanks, photo of sketch here imgur.com/2YkguZ8
@TimothyJohnLukeSmithPSA5 жыл бұрын
i Rob, beuatiful start! I keep the pencil lines for as long I need them. They are like guides until I paint over them with the ink and the airbrush. Make sure you don't erase them too early. Cut frisket when you need the hard edge and to keep the lights of the face pristine.
