This was a genuinely high quality video and demonstration. Thanks for getting me started on my project brother

Thankyou! So when your equations you said than you’ll know what your looking at. The final number lets say 2. What does that mean? 2 gallons? 2 quarts?

While it's on the crane. Leave it hanging until it's almost dry then you can splash it

Gonna love those square, unpainted sections under the supports. Nobody ever seems to cover that.

Literally why I searched how to paint the bottom of the boat. I'm working on a medium sized boat and I don't think I can flip it over safely

@@GoProXadventures Just move it once after you're finished! no other way to work arround them
@keithjohnston59364 жыл бұрын
Really? Here we go. Paint everything except where the supports are. Let dry. Jack up boat near one support. When the weight is off the support, move it. Paint newly exposed Hull section. Repeat.
@ThatOldMan21124 жыл бұрын
@@keithjohnston5936 So one way or another we're going to be overlapping dry paint. I guess it wouldn't matter so much with a thick ablative or something, but it will never look smooth with a thinner paint unless the section can be wet-sanded and buffed.

scallen2112 I personally wouldn’t worry about what goes on below the waterline (looks-wise), I also don’t think it would have much of a hydrodynamic impact. Good luck with it.

I work for Epic Doors which manufactures high-performance fiberglass entry doors. We evaluated several paint suppliers including TruCoat 623, Sherwin Williams Polane 2K Acrylic, and Aquasurtech D200. We were looking for an environmentally friendly, single component water based paint that was super durable, had great adhesion and laid down smooth. Based upon our evaluation we selected TruCoat 623. It was much more environmentally friendly than Polane 2K and is a single component and TruCoat.Us had better adhesion than D200 and was priced better.

Did you have to strip the old stuff? Or you choose to? I am applying Micron CSC to my old bottom paint, so just curious.
@PowerBoatTV4 жыл бұрын
Hi Michael, thanks for watching. Stripping off the old paint often depends on condition of the old paint and its compatibility with the new stuff. CSC is expensive, so you'll want it to adhere correctly. If I'm certain of brand/type compatibility, I have added new coats on top of old with just some light sanding. When in doubt though, I typically sand off all of the old paint. Just make sure you wear protective clothing, including the proper respirator. Many old bottom paints created toxic dust when sanded. The Interlux website has a fair bit of great info on compatibility and maintenance. www.interlux.com/en/us/boat-paint/antifouling/micron-csc Hope this helps!

I personally would have the crane come back lift it up and reposition all the jackstands and supports ,then sit back down and then do the same process to those areas

I'm really sure you can build it yourself. I did this 2 weeks ago thanks to the Woodglut plans.
