I love the plagueburst crawlers but I really feel they are at their best when you field 3 together, and stand them close to mortarion so you don't suffer a -1 to hit for indirect fire and also are able to re-roll 1's to wound. Always shoot the big cannon at infantry squads, preferably toughness 4 or less and as big squads as possible for maximum extra dice for blast. Shoot them and units holding objectives for example or maybe weaken a squad before you charge it with another unit.

Been since last edition that I played against one, but the guy was able to do some serious damage to my eldar.

I did try to focus the mortar on light infantry and that was a lot more effective
