Good evening Mr Y. Please stay with oil paint, there are plenty of acrylic painting channels. Very tired today. Had an episode too 🧠 I did manage some painting therapy though. Experimenting etc. JMW. Turner’ish palettes. Beautiful colouring. No true black Pigments until the last finishing touches etc. I’ve enjoyed being here this evening! Thank you, have a great weekend. Hugh.

I knew why you mixed the Ivory Black and T.White , it's for the white of the eye, but you have mixed a lot of it! :) I think you are a very generous person!

Re: your rags -- It's the oil that you should be concerned with not the mineral spirits (just don't keep your rags near an ignition source). I believe Gamsol has a relatively high ignition point compared to plain OMS if you are worried about that. Vegetable based oils such as walnut, poppy, linseed, etc will generate heat as they dry, and if that heat can't dissipate it will start a fire. If you have rags with wet oil (with or without pigment) on them you should leave them flat in a single layer outside out of the sun and away from your house to dry, or you can drape it over a railing or the edge of a trash can. Make sure they are not laying on top of one another or bunched up or folded. If you can't leave them outside to dry until later you should keep them in a water-filled bucket until you can. The same thing goes for paper towels. If they have oil on them do not wad them up and throw them in the trash or they can start a fire there.

I use water soluble oils, Winsor-Newton ARTISAN and LUKAS Berlin and i only need water and a bit of soap to clean the brushes ; it is eco-friendly and can just flush the water (hues vs real metals).

I really like acrylic paint, the drying time means I can get more done. I can't get my head around watercolour although I would like to so I'll be interested to see how you tackle it.

As always excellent session. If possible, can you talk briefly about mineral spirits, please? Which one is the safest to use. So grateful to you!!!

Answer for the rags: I use paper towel, I let it dry (evaporate) then toss them in the outside trash bin, If you use rags and a lot of turps , use air tight cylinder chemical red trash can and keep the lid closed.

orbicularis (with the meaning of: that is around, that orbits around, that surrounds) comes from the latin for "little circle". In Anatomy are those muscular formations that surround a hole/orifice (eye, anus, mouth). The second R is needed :)
