Great video. The Dark Imperium boxed set is great, though it is a nightmare for perfectionist OCD mold line cleaners like myself. I hope to have finished cleaning up the box before christmas for priming by January.

I always love watching your videos. There are so many useful tips and colour schemes to pick up. Whilst all my death guard armour is painted in the pre heresy colours, the tips on the flesh and guts here are definitely going to be used! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Wow, looks awesome and most certainly would love to see painting tutorials on all the Death Guard individually. As certainly helps more visually seeing on each, as i am one of them that needs to see it on each i.e seperate one for plague marines, foul blight spawn, the tallyman etc. Would love to see individual ones on all the Death Guard. Regardless that is one finely painted model. 🙂

Smooth guide dude,makes me want to paint again. I have painted 1 or 2 combat squads of infantry and 1 transport for Tau,Ultramarines, Imperial Guard, Space Wolves, Skitarii and Orks. Thinking of buying a Genstealer squad and their transport (that Goliath seems sweet ! ) to paint but I have to invest again in paints cause they are dried up from not using. Cheers

When you paint the fleshshade over the Celestra gray are you using contrast medium on the fleshshade? I’ve tried your method a dozen time to get that flesh look and it never covers the grey the same way- it’s always splotchy, spotty and never covers well

You could maybe use Elysain Green? Slightly darker but would do the job still.

What do You think about technical paints? Like adding nurgle's rot to the gut or typhus corrosion to the axe or chainmail for example

I do like them but I deliberately avoided them in this video. I wanted to show people how they could achieve such effects using their regular paints. If you interested in using the Technical paints on Nurgle minis you should check out my other tutorial: kzbin.info/www/bejne/h5jCp2B3lKZpobc

great vid. Is the Death Guard Green spray useable on a bare model or does it need a base primer such as black or grey? Keep up your great content
@PeteTheWargamer7 жыл бұрын
It's not the best Spray Paint to use as a primer but it works. I would recommend a spray varnish afterwards though if you plan to use your models on the table.

Great video! I've noticed that you've started using a lot more water vs Lahmean medium in your layers than previously. Is there a particular reason for this? Thank you!
@PeteTheWargamer7 жыл бұрын
It really depends on the use, if I'm blending layers of paint then I will probably make use of Lahmian Medium as this helps to provide smoother transitions. If however I applying washes or just want to make the paint a little more manageable I use water. Hope that clears things up a bit!

Awesome video as always! Any particular reason for using watered down Ahriman insteaed of Nihilakh Oxide?
@PeteTheWargamer7 жыл бұрын
Apologies in advance for the long the winded answer but here goes.. On an overall darker miniature like this, bright colours tend to 'pop' and draw the eye to them. So I try to keep the brighter colours on areas of detail that I want to draw the eye to, such as the tentacles and intestines. Nihilakh oxide is quite a bright colour and would be quite prominent against the darker colours. However, I wanted the verdigris effect to be more of subtle detail rather than an obvious one. So I opted to use Ahriman Blue instead, it's a similar hue but a little darker and less eye catching. Hope that explains my decision!

Is there a Vallejo or Army Painter alternative for death guard green? I haven't been able to get to my game shop to visually compare yet. Thanks so much for all the awesome tutorials. Your skills make me jealous. 😀
@PeteTheWargamer7 жыл бұрын
I would say that Combat Fatigues from the Army Painter is a fairly good approximation but you might want to mix in a little army green to darken it down ever so slightly.
@partypanda11327 жыл бұрын
Can someone explain the one part paint to one part water thing? I am kinda new to this.
@ARescueToaster7 жыл бұрын
One part water to one part paint means 50% water, 50% paint. When he says 2 parts paint to 1 part water that means twice as much paint as water. Watering down paints helps not only make your paints last a heck of a lot longer, it looks significantly better on models (though due to that, it requires a few layers of the watered down paint sometimes to get the effect you want)
@partypanda11327 жыл бұрын
