Hi "Need for speed. I usually use a light colored primer not a black and was wondering why you do? Does it cover better ? Thanks. Just got my F 86 and hopefully ordered all the graphics from Callie.

And, sorry, are the white and black Krylon or Rustoleum?

Black as the base coat supposedly helps the metallic silver "pop" a bit better. The krylon Regal blue is regular paint from the Krylon "fusion" line. The black is a cheap brand called colorplace. It is .98 a can from walmart. The white I believe was Rustoleum 2x. Good luck with yours!

I was seriously considering do this and appreciate your video, since the Sky Blazer is no longer available by HSD, but I went to Callie Graphics and they are not showing the Sky Blazer decals on their web-site.

Looks great. I was surprised how well the gloss paint looks. I have been spraying matte colors and using a foam brush to apply Minwax semi-gloss clear coat. I'll have to try gloss paint next time.

We agree! We will be sealing this one with a 2k automotive gloss clear coat once we've finished up the rivets and weathering. Thank you for watching.
