@siljekjenes First, with acrylic paint, I faided green up to white. Then I washed over it with some blue oil paint. I made the top layer thicker than the underneath so that it would crack.

I've only been painting for a year and trees are my favorite things to paint. However, my bare tree branches always end up looking 'clumsy'. As I was watching your tutorial the proverbial light bulb and Eureka moment struck me and I understood why my trees look so awkward. Thank you!
