Excellent teaching, i am painting over wallpaper in small bedroom and was not sure about need to prime/seal, did a small area to see if colour bled through...it did but now i know what to use and how to tackle this job! Thanks Steven for the video, i will definitely become a subscriber

can You use water based paint on wallpaper? I've been told I would need oil based primer before I apply water based paint? If not, the wallpaper will come off at some point.

Some will cover test it first, but if not then you would need to use Zinsser wallpaper cover up first i dont think the wallpaper will come off, if the wallpaper is stuck well.

Because it was an ok base to paint on, and it's what the client wanted lol

@@Inexteriors Thank you! I may have a similar job coming up. If I have a smooth wallper that seems attached to the wall well, would you say it's better to strip if you can, or paint straight on to it (following your method) or does it not matter? Thanks so much!

It's upto you, do a test patch first with a couple of coats to make sure it covers because some paterns bleed through. If it doesn't give it a of zinsser wallpaper cover up first.
