Kristy, I love to look beyond the entire composition and see what else I can find. In your first two aloe leaves I see a beautiful lady's hat. It may be that I love hats, but I could see a lady wearing this as she is riding in the English Country during the fall. As usual your piece is amazing!

Opera rose looks very fun at first, but it is such a fugitive color that it soon fades to a pale/muted sort of alizarin crimson. If you use it in journals it lasts quite a while, but out in the open it goes off relatively soon.

Interesting! I’ve been using opera pinks for years. I’ve never noticed my opera punks fading. I store my work upright in standing files?

@@KristyRice As long as it isn't exposed to light, any kind of sheltered file or book will protect it. You can, of course, enjoy perusing your files, or display them in a room without direct light for short periods of time, without any ill effects. Try a light exposure test, covering part of a swatch, and letting the light get to the other parts of the swatch for varying times (days, weeks, months...) You can then judge how lightfast it is and proceed from there, to purchase the best ones, and to use them in different applications.

Thank you so much, Kristy! I always learn a little something every time I watch one of your videos. A bit here and there is better to learn for a beginner than trying to cram too much in all at once. Each time I can then go and practice like crazy until it clicks!

Yay! A new video! I stalk your KZbin daily looking for new videos and videos others have posted with Painterly Days! Love this new video and I'm sure I'll watch it a hundred times as I have the others. Ordered my third and final Painterly Days book yesterday. Now Thursday needs arrive quickly! I'm a huge fan of opera rose myself. Right now I'm obsessed with Daniel Smith's moonglow. It is the most unique pigment I have ever seen. It is truly stunning and makes an interesting leaf when mixed with green gold.

Hi Kristy, wonderful painting! Thank you for the demonstration. I've discovered your books and work only recently and have watched almost all of your videos. I love your approach to art and especially the way you have with colour! It's so inspiring! Many years i didn't paint but through colouring books i could reconnect to creating and feel so grateful for that. I was a member of several colouring groups on facebook and collected hundreds of colouring books from all around the world on a Pinterest board. A friend from one of those groups even sent me a book from the USA as it wasn't available here in Germany. As i love watercolours (i live in the town where Schmincke paints are produced but i prefer Daniel Smith!) i have always been searching for books suitable for watercolours and only found the small postcard books from Pepin Press. I tried watercolours with some other books which wasn't a great success, lol. Your books seem to be wonderful and as i love abstract art i would most probably get the Pattern one. I am also on the verge of creating my own designs. Keep up the inspiring work! This world needs more art. And more colours!

Those messed up sayings are called malapropisms, my husband does them all the time and I make fun of him of course. Also, I'm definitely afraid of the white paper. I've got one of your books on the way to help build my courage. Thank you for the kind way you approach teaching, you are addressing all of my concerns and I'm starting to believe I can do this!

Kristy! I love this... Now I need to buy some watercolor paper... ❤️ I have a question, you mentioned in a demo a while ago that Amazon had some good mats and frames for the painterly days pages, and I couldn't find it anywhere, would you mind sharing again? I have 4 or 5 pages I think are frame worthy. :)
