It’s great that you use dry brushing so much in your painting . It’s a great technique that I don’t see used as much anymore. Everyone seems to be all about glazes glazes and more glazes these days . Not everyone has time for such and dry brushing is a fast easy technique that has proven great looking results for decades . Keep by the great tutorials sir !

Double commenting to say that I've watched most of your recent vids on multiple ways to paint different elements, noted the recipes, ordered myself a textured palette, and I am ready to give your method a shot on a few minis. Really loving your approach and I hope I can do it justice :D

Super nice results. This is easy on textured surfaces...but I am currently trying to paint (freehand?) a wood texture on a flat shield and spear. Wish me luck. And thanks for the tips for the colours.

I think using a dark green instead of Incubi Darkness as wash would look also good, giving a mossy/rotten wood effect, plus a soft drybush with a ligther green on the washed area.

Those shields are awesome!!!!!
@ArtisOpus3 жыл бұрын
Have you tried to paint them too?😊

@@ArtisOpus Can’t say I’ve even seen them before lol. I’m one of many who have just started to dabble in these figures since lockdown, so haven’t seen all that is on offer.

Evening. Bought some series D and used your videos and making great progress. I love the classic Legion if the Damned. I've tried using pin washes with yellows and oranges which was okay and tried dry brushing blacks over yellows and oranges. Anything tips you have would be appreciated.

This is really good stuff, much appreciated, but if possible could we see a wood part 2 video about making something non-textured look as though it has a wood grain? Easy done with oils but I don't know a simple way to do it quickly without using oils and waiting 2-3 days to fully dry

Hey mate, could you please make a video on painting different types of stone, I’m looking for a nice spooky color to paint my graveyard mausoleum, and I was hoping you could come up with some cool ideas. Thanks again keep up the wonderful job
@ArtisOpus3 жыл бұрын
Hey dude, check out our Spooky Basing tutorial. These are the exact colours I'd recommend or close and they'll work just as well for scenery as they did on the base😊
@doczoff56553 жыл бұрын
Fantastic video! Have you experimented texture painting over real wood? Scrubbing balsa with your stiff nylon clean-up brush might create a really interesting woodgrain texture.
@ArtisOpus3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Doc, I actually have, *exactly* this technique is what I used to make my converted soulscream bridge model for my order army, and it came out really really nicely, stiff nylon brush is an unsung hobby hero
