Does the primer you used cover any knots from coming through the paint? Like kilz would do

The primer that I used worked very well for coving knots.

Thank you this was very helpful! I will be painting my stained wood trim also. Do you think the liquid sand paper is needed if my wood trim is not varnished and has a rough texture already?

You will probably be ok, but since it is a lot of work to paint the trim it may be worth doing it anyway, it is relatively inexpensive and easy to do.
