For pairing a Samsung phone with the Mazda 3 (2014) - the problem was that I was holding the phone too far from the radio display. It has to be about 4-5 inches away in order for the phone to pick up the signal. I had the car in Park, engine off, radio on, and then paired it.

Nvm, I got it. In case anyone else is having the same ID-10-T moment, use voice commands "setup" then "Bluetooth options" and then listen to the options and it will become apparent what to do. Also, remember if you know the commands you want, you can interrupt the assistant only by pressing the voice button. It's not listening while talking.

Also, don't forget to edit the phonebook. I got a surprise when it thought I wanted to call one of the previous owner's contacts lol.

Joan Martz I doubt it. My 2008 Mazda6 doesn't have Bluetooth. Don't think Bluetooth became widespread (at least in Mazda vehicles) until after 2008.

You sort of just say go to settings and pairing options but where is that? Do I say that as a voice command? Obviously you have to have the vehicle searching for new devices but it' isn't really clear how to make that happen

At first, thank you for the video. shame on me, I'd bought Mazda5 (2009) in Nov 2013 (having all the features including hands free, lead up display), but didn't find hands free and projection to windscreen yet! yesterday I found at Latvian Mazda dealer site information how to switch on hands free (Unfortunately our Belarus dealer have no such information) - tried today - "Hands free is locked, Listening ...". I've read below how to re-set in for CX-7 (thanks to AskaMazdaSalesPro) got stuck at step 3 - which is Audio button and which is Power I have one switch on/off button of multimedia system and button for switching between entertainment and Navi (also there are a lot of buttons on touch screen ... but they are not power, etc.) as I got it from instruction 1. Start the engine 2. Switch on entertainment system (power on button) 3. Press and hold Power button for 2 secs and press Audio button (is it my button for switching between entertainment system and Navigation?) what is the "push 39" - will the button come up on the screen?
