Reversing makes absolutely no sense whatsoever to me 😂 my instructor is trying so hard for me to understand but I have terrible instincts when reversing. I just don't get it! Thanks for the video!

I love the way he teaches....i wish my driving instructor would do this.....He has taught me nothing 10 lessons in.....he just lets me drive and he is on his phone all the time.....occasionally he will tell me to do something like check mirrors....we did this maneuver few times....i nailed it ....i don't know how though...but he is confident i don't need any more training....but i think i do....i know nothing of 1 o clock rule and door handle over the curb.....well.....i guess i am screwed....

This might sound like a stupid question but, I am a few weeks away from my test and I’ve got parallel parking down to a T in my instructors car. I just bought my own car to practice in along side my lessons, I tried to parallel park but my own car only has 3 doors so I couldn’t use the back handle as a reference point so I went in wrong so I didn’t know what to use as a reference point so it made the manoeuvre a lot more complicated than it should have been, and that it is on my lessons. HELP! Hope that made sense 😂🙈

Currently binge watching your vids Matt! I have my test on Saturday morning, just a quick question when doing the parallel park my instructor has told me it would be best to adjust the left mirror before setting off instead of doing it before reversing. I thought by setting your mirror before setting off would effect your vision through the left mirror when doing your observations? I think I might be over thinking lol..

Hi Chris, what does 1 O'Clock mean ?, is the direction the car is pointing ... relative to 'up the road', with 'up the road being 12 O'Clock' ?

I have a question. When we want to turn left in to a road and when we check Centre and then left mirror and you see a cyclist approaching you at speed and there is another car behind you, what should you do in that situation?

Sanay Patel depends on how far away the cyclist is, what I will say though is that’s it’s impossible to judge speed so if in any doubt just stop and wait in the road and let the cyclist pass. Causing the car behind you to wait for a few seconds is better than you risking it and pulling left and hitting the cyclist.

How close should you be to the kurb?

There is no dead set. It just has to be reasonable for the road. I usually say"anything with a drains width from the kerb"

within 30cm's I was told when I was taught but more ideally 6 inches. Either way a drains width as said above is about right.

Chris lifted the handbrake after put the gear into 'N' when he stopped. Is that correct or he should lift the handbrake first?

There is no right or wrong here. It is recommended handbrake first just in case you forget neutral and let the clutch go.

Sorry late reply, it would also help if you adjust your mirrors down so you can see the rear wheel. From there it's easier to know when to turn the steering wheel right full lock to make it pararell, takes practice
