I started with my first practice test on Uworld scoring a 145 and a passing score is 196! So I had a lot of work cut out for me which led me to dig deep and find studying methods that worked! Here I provide you guys with exactly what I did and what you guys can do! I hope you future doctors find this helpful! Below I have some links that I think are VERY helpful for STEP 1 studying!

@kgoswami14
@kgoswami14 Жыл бұрын
Hey! So NBMEs are great for practice especially cause they cover similar content as the actual test and show where you lie in terms of score. But the test format is not exactly the same as the real deal. Uworld and Free 120 are very similar in terms of formatting if not exactly like the real deal. Although please please still do NBMEs as they are a good indicator of where your score will lie on test day, they are pretty accurate in terms of scoring regardless of which one you take. Basically use them as stepping stones to see where you lie. So that's my take on them, they're great to see where you are standing, but not perfect in terms of formatting.

Thank you for your kind words! I'm sorry to hear that, but I can reassure you that I also started with basically zero knowledge. I would say that it will take you around 4 months to start studying everything and learn it well using the materials mentioned in the video. In terms of the mbbs grades I'm sure they will glance at it for match but I'm not really sure how much it will affect match, I really believe step is more important and it you have you are passionate for medicine through some extracurriculars then you should be ok. I hope that answered your questions, please message me anytime you have a quesstion.

Hello, congrats on being in second year! I would say start watching all of Pathoma with extra emphasis on chapters 1-3 maybe rewatch those after you watch all of pathoma. As you watch each chapter unlock Duke's deck which correlates with all of the material. Then watch sketchy micro and pharm and do the subsquent anki for it. Watch dirty medicine for biochem and look up stats summary for step 1. Start doing uworld a few months before your test, and do a few practice tests. That should be good to start prepping. @@hammad3180 hello bud, i am a 2020 graduate and i never thought of usmle first, but than after graduating i developed interest towards it and 6 months after finishing my internship i wrote step 1, step 1 becoming pass/fail made alot of students to give it during there ms2 or ms3, so ill recommend u to write it during that time. Before when i was in 2nd year it was scored and nobody risked giving it till they got graduated, only few had the courage to study for scored step1 and prepare for university exams aswell. So it being p/f u dont have to worry about score, but make sure u study well for it. Cuz if your step 1 knowledge is weak its gonna be reflective on your step 2, and step 2 score is the only objective criteria available so score matters in step 2ck. Rest everbodys journey is different, early or late winning matters. When it comes to preparing starts from day 1 buy first aid book and read from it.
