Hi Svitlana, do you already have your experience broken down by hours and tracked in an Excel spreadsheet? You can google one easily and just fill in the hours. On the application, just write paragraphs on each experience and make sure to detail out which phase of the project lifecycle your experience was involved in (eg Planning, Implementation, etc)

Yes memorizing all the earned value formulas is a must and such a low hanging fruit. You might only get very few questions on it but how long does it take to memorize them? For me it was quick and so I suggest you memorize them.

Hello Lok. Thanks for the video. Really inspiring.. Did you ever consider the PMI study hall? Could it be compared to prep cast? Thank you!
@chanlok2 жыл бұрын
I did! First, it costs money. Second, the first point doesn’t actually really matter. The most important is this - I read so many online reviews and YT videos of people saying that it’s not representative and that it’s still Beta. I don’t know about you but for only $160 for prepcast, I’m not going to waste my time with other stuff. Prepcast is proven to be the closest thing there is to the real exam. It’s been around a long time. I don’t need to waste my time with other products even if they’re cheaper. I’m pretty goal oriented that way. Hope that makes sense. The risk here is you try study hall and then it doesn’t help you pass and now you’ve wasted a ton of time and some money, but most importantly time and effort and then you have to go back to buying prepcast or something else. Why not just start with something proven and the best of the best product to begin with? I mean unless $160 is too much $ and so if that’s the case please try other ways. My video and the way I did it is focused on time and effort savings for highest result, but it doesn’t really consider budget tbh.

Lok, when you say 80% agile like what is scrum, roles or other stuff like this or were there like Prople questions that bleed into agile? Kudos on the PMP and info helping others.
@chanlok2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for leaving a comment Edgar! It doesn’t go down that deep. There’s a basic framework of how a product owner/manager prioritizes user stories, and a scrum master helps the team remove roadblocks, and what each scrum artifact does (the meetings like daily standup, retrospective, etc). As long as you know that basic framework then you’ll be able to answer most of the questions. For example they’ll ask if a VP can ask the dev team to do som work and the answer is no because it needs to go through the product owner first because he/she is the one who prioritizes.
@xUSAFWolfman2 жыл бұрын
@@chanlok thanks for the quick reply! Yeah.. sorry just tried to cone up with an example on the fly in my car but are there really that many agile questions now vs the old content in say 5th edition with processes and people type questions?
@chanlok2 жыл бұрын
@@xUSAFWolfman no problem! It’s not quite one or the other. I guess that’s the confusing part. It’s not traditional OR agile. They’ll combine elements of agile into traditional. So for example they’ll say in the design phase of a project they had a project plan and all these other traditional stuff. But then for the development they used agile so who should be the product owner? The answer is to assign the business analyst as the product owner. It’s not super clear cut. Almost like a Venn diagram. All I can say is a question which is 100% traditional is super rare and less than 50% of the exam is like that. I’d say out of most questions it’s either 100% agile or a traditional with elements of agile type question. You’ll have to know both well, to be honest.

Hi Lok, thank you for sharing this steps.I watched many videos and comments mentioning that the exam needs a mindset and focus on agile. But, is the PMP exam still considering the e memorization of all ITTOs?
@chanlok2 жыл бұрын
Hi Daniela, great question! Despite what others say, I believe you need to memorize the ITTOs to a sufficient degree such that when a question comes up, you immediately (within 10 seconds) can spot which progress GROUP the question is targeting. You’ll never be able to memorize every single ITTO in detail. Also, there’s a exam waiting by process group or phase somewhere - try to find it. JP’s udemy course I mentioned has it in the beginning. For example, even though initiation phase may only cover two knowledge areas, it represents something like over 15% or so of the entire exam. So you wana memorize those 2 areas within the initiation process group. Something like planning has so much material but only accounts for 30% of the exam, u might just wana try to cover the general idea of spotting the question and process of elimination like I mentioned previously. It’s all about exam strategy and focusing on the high value areas and memorizing those, then roughly covering the rest. Hope that helps. Don’t quote me on the exact % but you should be able to find it easily.

Would your tips help with the CAPM? -especially since it probably wont be as in depth as the PMP. I feel like it would but it doesn't hurt to ask.
@chanlok2 жыл бұрын
When I structured this video, I kept in mind not just the PMP but also the CAPM as well. I think it applies. The long story short of it is: 1) watch an intro video on youtube on CAPM, 2) do practice tests and study the answers until your practice test results get into a passing range. If after the first practice test you realize you clearly need more material to study with first, then take a udemy course, preferrably any cram course not full course. That's pretty much it!

How much time per day during the 14 day period did you dedicate to study/exam prep?
@chanlok2 жыл бұрын
Tbh, I studied for a month on and off, and took a few days off here and there. When I made this video I just wanted it to be easy to understand so I added up all the hours I think u spent studying, and then used a 6 hour day to condense it to an understandable number of 14 days x 6 hours a day. So the title of the video should really be 84 hours. I think if you put in 2 weeks of solid 6 hours a day of studying you’ll ace it.
