Hello Angela, Thank you so much for taking your time to help others to prepare and pass the SHRM CP. I made the mistake of using a SHRM Learning system to study from back in August, but the Learning system was copywritten in 2009! A former Colleague had given me their modules and practice test book, but I soon realized that I better change my study plan. I downloaded the SHRM BASK from their website per your recommendation and now I am trying to decide what my next step is. If I should purchase a 6 week boot camp course, but these are quite expensive so I am not sure. I am taking my exam in 2025. What do you suggest? I am an HR Manager already applying these competencies, but not such a great test taker! Please help! Thank you! God Bless.

Hi Victoria, I don't know if you're aware, but I have a 12 week course that provides in depth learning geared toward exam preparation. I certainly suggest that as your next step. The 12 week series started on October 19th and it is for January/February test takers. I'm not sure which window in 2025 you're testing for, but if it's one of those windows you can jump in now. If you plan to test in the summer of 2025 then I suggest you start the March exam prep series.

Hello, i am scared to take the test because a lot of the practice questions seem like they were meant for people that took business in college, ive worked in hr for 10 years with no college experience, how can i overcome or learn about the questions relating to xx names theory, and models, etc. ? I take the practice exam and find myself having to google a bunch of them and terminology names they use i have never heard in business day to day because i work for smaller companies.

@@hrexamprepwithangela3135 i have tried the free practice tests that are online from SHRM, HRCP and other websites. They have questions like Several raters evaluate job descriptions and arrange them according to their value to the company. Which job evaluation method are the raters using? A Classification B Ranking C Point factor D Market-pricing for some of these like this one, i can read the sentence and use process of elimination to answer, but i was never taught things like these methods and what they are called. So just things like this that are making feel uncomfortable taking the test.

@@hrexamprepwithangela3135 another is like " Management by Objective (MBO)", i have never heard these terms used in business ive worked with, nor have i ever learned what it is.

Sounds like you need to expand your study material. MBO is a common term that could easily show up on the SHRM exam.
