Enjoying your straight to the point videos, very helpful

Thank you! I definitely try to keep these types of videos as clutter free as possible haha.

Hey this is great info for all op-z users, I've had mine for at least a year and I love videos like this that reinforce and reinforce the process. Not to mention that I've become dependent on the app, so it's great to learn how to do things without it!
@FreeBeat4 жыл бұрын
I'm the exact opposite haha, I've been trying to use the app more lately!
@howardanderson30614 жыл бұрын
@@FreeBeat Well actually I may have overstated myself, when I'm really working on something that requires a lot of tracks, tweaks and all the vastness of the OP-Z....I'm using the app for sure. I got an iPad last Xmas just for that purpose. I know Jeremy (RMR) has always used the app but then again he is a monster on like 12 or more very complex machines. Lol

Good tip thanks! How do you clear it and go back to no pattern chain programmed in? Does that make sense?
@FreeBeat4 жыл бұрын
Super easy! Just make sure you don't have a chain loaded (switch to any pattern) and save that over whatever you'd like to delete. The chain slot will be empty. Thanks for watching!

Thanks. How do you clear a pattern chain?
@FreeBeat2 жыл бұрын
Just save a "chain" of a single pattern and that should do the trick.

First of all, thanks a lot for the info, it's really helpful! Second, a small question, can a pattern be timed to be played, for example, just 4 times, and then stop? Thanks a lot in advance!
@FreeBeat Жыл бұрын
It can't be set to stop :( Thanks for watching!

Can you chain different mutegroups aswell?
@zooblestyx2 жыл бұрын
I'm a relatively new OP-Z owner, so this might be something that came with a later update, but a pattern can be 16 bars long. You have 1-8 bars with keys 1-8, and on 9 you get 16 bars. Far as I can tell, there's no way to get to 9-15 bars, but it's a cruel, harsh world out there, and some things in life you just have to fight for.
@FreeBeat2 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately that's not actually extending the length of the measure, just changing the resolution of the steps. So it can definitely be used to create longer patterns, but each time you extend the length of the pattern you lose sequencing resolution :(
@zooblestyx2 жыл бұрын
I realize that, I just wanted to mention you can get 16 bars. I can see why they did it this way, but if it were up to me, I'd follow convention and consensus with interface design. That said, I'm still to find anything else that irks me about the OP-Z. Except maybe the need for that second LFO. I mean, encoder pages just toggle through. No reason not to have more than four

I’m going use pattern chaining right now to give me a 2 bar or 4 bar pattern Idk why I didn’t think of that a long time ago

how do you get 8 measure long patterns!? cheers
@FreeBeat Жыл бұрын
Hold down "shift" and the track button and then press the 8 button. Keep in mind that this lowers the sequencing resolution of your pattern as well. You'll have to play your notes in with the real time recording function (with pretty accurate timing as well) to take advantage of the extra length and space.

I wanna get an opz but I have not heard one good beat from it yet from a dozen different videos lol
@FreeBeat7 ай бұрын
If you're just looking for beats then my channel probably isn't the one for you to be honest haha. However, the OP-Z's drum tracks are all completely sample based, so you can easily put the sounds that you want in there, and the punch-in effects combined with the tape track can make for some really cool beat based performances.

What are yours opinions on it’s build quality? I’ve heard horrible things about the OP Z and the only reason I haven’t bought it is because of its double triggers and warping
@gianlucacali26354 жыл бұрын
Sometimes there’re some issues, like double triggers, crashes, and strange behaviours. Considering this, it packs a looot of fun in a pocket, powerful beast...
@okeribok3 жыл бұрын
I have not had double triggers or warping, but one of the encoders did pop off. I could just pop it back though and it hasn’t popped out yet. Overal it’s not bad for the size and the price. If you want better build quality, look at monome, or at least at their price point.

What kind of magic made pattern one to repeat 4 times before advancing to the second pattern?
@FreeBeat3 жыл бұрын
When creating your pattern chain you can push the same pattern multiple times in a row :)
@dirku633 жыл бұрын
@@FreeBeat Thanks. I got that. But you inserted your first pattern only once, and than the second twice... In the playback the the 16 step LEDs run though the pattern 4 times. If I set my step length to 4 they only get slower.
@FreeBeat3 жыл бұрын
@@dirku63 Ah, in that instance, one of the tracks on that pattern was set to longer than 1 measure. I believe it was the drums. I was just currently viewing a track that was only set to one measure long, so it gave the impression of playing 4 times.
@dirku633 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much. That was exactly what I was trying to understand.
