Nice interview. The guy is very blessed and lucky I would say because he got the ideal conditions but the reality of majority of students in Canada is totally opposite. Students are dying because of the depression and pressure they can’t take. They don't get work at all the places in Canada. The rents are too expensive. Grocery, Medical insurance , phone bills, transit pass charges nd other petty charges exceeds the amount that they earn while working part time. Also, considering the number of students arriving every semester, there are not enough on campus jobs which can help them to pay their debts. On an average 800-1000 students land in Canada every semester in each college and majority of them are under graduates. Colleges or Universities don't have these many vacancies to provide job. Also, Many colleges/universities don't have gap of 4 months also known as schedule breaks. Too many colleges have 3 semester in a year and an average fees of $2200 per course.

When your parents are retired and you don't have the ITRs filled for your parents, what you do in that case? I was in the same situation. I took a personal loan with a higher interest rate to get my wife study in Canada. She started working immediately in Canada and I joined her after 3 months from India. Even I got the job just after I landed in 22 hours. Everything will be alright in the end. If you overthink your situation, you can't move ahead.

Hi, I am sure Gursahib will be an inspiration for so many students. However, I feel that along with the hard work and effort that Gursahib has put in, he has been very lucky too. He got his part time job before the start of the semester. He also got an on campus job, and the full time job was kind of waiting for him. Things don't work out this way for everyone. This is not to discourage or disappoint the students. But the reality is that it is a tough struggle for lot of students who need to earn and pay off for their studies. One more fact that the students must keep in mind is that in Diploma and P G Diploma courses one can spare time for part time jobs. However, for Bachelor's and Master's degrees students this may not be possible. Trying to squeeze in a job in whatever little time they are able to spare can affect the grades. (Exceptions are always there). Opting for Co - Op programs is a good option if available.
