A flight from East Coast USA is faster and closer to Ireland than to west coast USA. "If you want to move, you may as well move!" - Andrew 🤯

What I don't like about Ireland is the climate... 🌧 Maybe you can make another video about non-dom in Malta or Cyprus? 🌞

There is a reason why Ireland is associated with "forty shades of green" namely all the rain.

Thanks Jelena and R&D team for talking about more Ireland. Andrew also started spending time to live in Ireland and have an office there too! I hope that Jelena and the team would talk about UK's Non-Dom next 🇬🇧

As always, very helpful!! Can you create a video explaining the benefits and processes for acquiring residency in the rest of the UK i.e. Scottland, England, and Norway?

Well, it is relatively safe compared to other places in the world, but crime is on the rise and is set to get worse in the years ahead.

Small correction regarding citizenship - you will need 5 years (not 6) of reckonable visa time to be eligible to apply for an Irish passport. You cannot have more than 4-6 weeks outside of the country in the first 4 years of your residence, and no more than 2 weeks outside of the country in a year prior to your application.
@AlaninValleSanLorenzo
@AlaninValleSanLorenzo Ай бұрын
I don't think that is correct. You are allowed up to 70 days per year (including the last year prior to application), outside Ireland to still qualify.
@nommet
@nommet Ай бұрын
@@AlaninValleSanLorenzo This is ever-changing actually, those were the rules when I applied. Before that, they wanted to enforce it according to the law - no absence in the year prior to the application.

If your aim is to get Irish citizenship, this will not work as those years as “non-dom” don’t count as citizenship as technically you are not domiciled there. Correct?
@nommet
@nommet Ай бұрын
Not correct. Your non-dom status doesn't really matter. What matters is if you were living here on a visa (they call it stamps) that is reckonable towards citizenship. Student visas, for instance, are not reckonable, work visas and probably investor visas are reckonable.

You give good advice. Ireland only makes sense if you buy a house, renting is bad there, right now. Sadly their health care system seems to be terrible. I guess we get what we pay for, after all, or less (they have a private sector but it's expensive and doesn't work well, or so it seems, I only read bad things about it, even if you're willing to not use insurance and pay for whatever you need out of pocket they just don't seem to have good private clinics for certain things or they're just overwhelmed). I have to say Europe feels like a decaying Detroit on life support. And mostly due to terrible woke policies. I would surely shop around if I were wealthy. As a below average person I just have to stay put as returning to Brazil would be worse.

What about countries like Belarus, Russia, Georgia, Armenia?
@TheSimArchitect
@TheSimArchitect 5 ай бұрын
If those places were great we'd know. Trust me. They can only misinform people to a certain point. I keep searching and the only thing I see is you usually get less than what you pay for, with money, time, health or a combination. That's how society is able to exist, of course, but I find it quite difficult to find a "better deal" like we used to have before. The top 1% were always the top 1%, of course. But I don't believe they're watching videos on KZbin about it. They just have people working for them, instead. On that sense having content like what this channel presents is quite convenient as we get some crumbs of free information while they get better discoverability. @@owenready7043

@@lifesahobbyAgreed to a point. The HSE is massively top heavy with admin and not enough medical professionals though. A newly qualified Nurse or Doctor can make much more money abroad, they don't seem truly valued here.

What do you do about healthcare ? Can non dom people get the same healthcare benefits? This is something that wasn’t discussed. Otherwise what’s really the point of having this unless you’re the CEO of a major corporation.

What you want is to deport the non-productive recently arrived people. At least deport the biggest troublemakers, criminals, healthy people who refuse to get a job, etc. Foreigners with money will still be paying a ton of taxes through your very high VAT of 23%.
