How to perfectly double sleeve Dragon Shield Yu-Gi-Oh! Cards (Tutorial)

Hello everyone, I've been having a lot of trouble and wasted a lot of time trying to double sleeve my Dragon Shield Japanese perfect fit and Japanese sized matte black sleeves (taking it in and out due to inner sleeve crimping/slipping). Discovered a good way to do it quickly and perfectly so wanted to share this tutorial with y'all.

This has gotta be the best sleeving tip I've ever heard! I've been trying to slide them in as is and usually have to take forever getting it all the way in the outer sleeve properly and have even bent a card doing so (don't worry it wasn't anything special) but I just tried this with a few cards and it slides them in perfectly and has no air pockets in it.

thank god that I saw this, I just started to play mtg in paper, and was double sleeving my cards and noticed that extra space within the inner sleeve and thought that was a problem, thank god that youtube showed this video at first option, and thanks to you for sharing the info man!

What worked for me was putting the inner sleeve halfway in the outer Sleeve, then putting my thumb inside the outer sleeve as far down on the inner sleeve as possible and then applying a little bit of pressure while pushing it down. Worked everytime for me and seems to be a little bit faster than this double card method

This was super helpful, I was so exited to try this sleeving method because of hpw clean it looks but when I started having these same issues I was worried that it wasn't going to work well.

I've seen folks do this but it affects the inner tolerance of the sleeves and the top's start to warp quicker because of the added looseness.

That could be true, I haven't experienced that myself yet though. I guess if that is a concern then we'd have to use two different brand or a larger variance in sizing. But just incase for the people that want to use these two sleeves in particular I wanted to share my experience without destroying the card itself 😄

What I wanted to do is use the Japanese sleeves for the inner and regular dragon shield sleeves for the outer, don’t really want to be just forcing my cards into sleeves

Dude, I was so excited to get those dragon shield sleeve until I noticed how hard it is to get double sleeved cards in it. Should’ve thought to use another card too. Such a pain trying to squeeze it in alone. I even creased a card by accident(thankfully it wasn’t worth that much)😊

My only concerns with this method is then removing that card from the sleeve at some point. But they look very clean this way.

I haven't had an issue removing the card normally, but the reverse of this tutorial can also be used to take it out to have two useless cards as a clamp

I've never used the sealable ones, but I guess maybe those ones are a better fit? Didn't wanna go through the hassle of sealing though

@@BlueCycle0 I use the regular perfect fits and it's a struggle without using some extra help like you did. All the other yugitubers just get the cards in so easily whether it's the perfect fit or the perfect fit sealable. I just think they use outer sleeves that have already been used so it's easier to slide the card by itself in.

This method has been used on hundreds of my cards lol Ultimate guard katanas are easier to double sleevs with and of super high quality but they refuse to print more colors

what are your thoughts on Dragon Shield Sealable Japanese Clear as Inner Sleeves instead of the normal Dragon Shield Japanese Perfect Fit (that you use)?

In terms of protection it'll definitely be an extra tier up. Although it will be 1 extra layer of plastic than the Japanese perfect fit, this method would still work. In fact the sealable one will keep it even more stable ... Just gotta be careful when you're pushing it in to not damage the card 👍🏻. Although I'm not sure in what sort of water scenario would the card need that much protection.

How do you get the cards to stay deflated??

you can try to push all the air out, but i dont think it can stay deflated permanently - although I do like having some air in mine for easier shuffling

In my opinion your second layer is too small, try 63*88 DS, and Kmc inner sleeves which size is 60*87
