I have had QL muscle discomfort which switched to Shoulder blade at time and if both stopped my calf muscle used to feel knotty. PT , Doctors , pain killers never worked. Once randomly PT therpaist said do you want to try cupping and I had nothing to loose. Well that worked like magic. With every cupping session my pain has been almost gone now.

As an athlete that uses EMS machine, rollers, and attends Pilates, gym & bodybalance exercise classes - this is a good video to watch - excellently put together. Just a quick question. As a track and field athlete with post ‘speed bridge’ surgical procedure back in 2018 - Do u have a video or effective ways to cupping the achilles, heel bone, ankles and the feet!? And is dry or wet method a better option? Thank you

I like the video,but i disagree with your explanation of dry cupping and wet cupping.I had wet cupping before (done on me)and wet cupping is,when the practitioner uses a small scalpel and makes very small cuts into your skin,then places the cup on it and creates the vacuum.the blood will then come out and collects in the cup. i remember being amazed about the colour of the blood,some was almost black. After wet cupping you should not have a shower for 24 hours.

I appreciate your comment! I think we’re using different terminology; I’m familiar with what you describe as being a form of “bloodletting”. However, I absolutely could be wrong. Nonetheless, I’m glad to hear you had a positive experience with your cupping treatment! Cheers.

This is my understanding of “wet cupping” as well. It involves pulling blood through cut. We would use the term “dynamic cupping” for all applications that he calls “wet cupping.”

This was one of the best videos on cupping for me. I got 3 surgeries in 3 years, the last 2 one on both knees. So I figured out, that some muscles are now glued to my skin, this is how I would describe it. Beside rolling on a lacrosse ball (most of the time on 2 of them), I want to increase my movement by using these kind of cups. Thanks for all the "between the lines" information like how you use which cup for which issue or technique. Can you maybe also show how to use it by oneself oon difficult body parts as back? Can I put then upwards down on the floor and just lay on them???
@StrengthResurgence
@StrengthResurgence 5 ай бұрын
Thank you for the kind words! I'm glad the video was helpful! The back can be tricky if trying to cup yourself. I doubt laying on the floor with them would be of much help. You may want to look up a product called "Acumobility ball" - you can easily lay on these or stick them on a wall and then put your body pressure against them. It's a compressive therapy though, not like decompression with cupping, but you may find it to still be quite beneficial! I hope this helps!

For someone who has chronic waist pain how can the patient be cupped
@StrengthResurgence
@StrengthResurgence 8 ай бұрын
It would depend on different factors, and it may be that other interventions aside from cupping should be implemented. Sorry I can’t be any more specific than this. If you try cupping with them, start light and get their feedback along the way to make sure everything is tolerable for them.

The black and red ones in the video are from a company called RockTape, they’re called RockPods. The clear ones are from Amazon. I got those ones as a set, I believe the company name is “Elra”. You can head over to the RockTape website and Amazon for the most up-to-date prices. Hope this helps!

What are your thoughts on the plastic gun pump versions ? What about the glass ones ?
@StrengthResurgence
@StrengthResurgence 5 ай бұрын
Plastic gun pump versions are awesome for very high powered suction/decompression. I like them in those regards (I’ve used them previously). The downside/limitation with them is that you typically can’t move when they’re on and they’re not designed for active gliding. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, but just something to be mindful of (it all comes down to how you want to use your cups). They’re great for those times where you just want a ton of suction/decompression. Glass cups are the most traditional but I find they have the greatest limitation since you typically need to create the vacuum effect by creating a flame underneath the cup to create the pressure gradient for suction (typically called “fire cupping”). Again, I quite like it, but you simply need to know its limitations. Ultimately, the plastic cups and glass cups are great in a lot of ways, but due to their nature, I find silicone cups to be the most versatile and convenient for my needs. Hope this information helps!

I have a set of electric cups and while I think they are nifty, they wouldn’t be my first choice. I feel the low cost, versatility, and practicality of traditional cups is way better. Just my own opinion though!

Can you tell me if cupping would be helpful for a lingering problem im having with my elbow. Been in physical therapy for over 3 months and there is still pain. Not alway intense but some days are still kind of bad. It is diagnosed as tennis elbow. Not something i actually got from sports of any kind though. Best we can tell is possibly an injury from me using a bit too much weight on a bicep curl machine. I'm a 43 year old woman, not in good physical shape but no chronic illnesses.

Seems like a drawback to the rock pods is that one can not see the degree of color change to skin......which is one way of determining the length of time that a cup stays on...... Perhaps that is a more traditional approach,that says one should know what one is doing, instead of just saying "well,this is a way to do it,probably won't harm you if you don't do it too long...."

I picked up the entire set of clear cups in the video on Amazon. I think the brand name is “Elra” or something of the sort. I just picked a set that didn’t cost much; so I wouldn’t worry about a specific brand. Just any brand of large silicone cup will likely work just fine. Hope this helps!

The clear silicone ones in the video I just picked up off of Amazon. I think the brand name was Elra, but I wouldn’t worry too much about brand specifics; there shouldn’t be any noticeable differences between one brand of silicone cups like these to the next. I just got the least expensive set I could find. Hope this helps!

which cupping technique would you advise for a groin strain?
@StrengthResurgence
@StrengthResurgence 2 жыл бұрын
I’d say it’s worth trying each technique and seeing which feels best for you. Some of the groin muscles are deeper than others, so depending on which muscle(s) is/are strained, I’d say that in theory you’d have better luck doing static cupping (just letting the cup sit there) for deeper muscles and dynamic for the muscles that are closer to the skin. But that’s just theory, so I’d play around with each technique. Might be worth trying some internal gliding (I think I mentioned this in the video) where you let the cup sit over the sore spot and then gently move your leg while the cup sits there. Shouldn’t be painful, rather that you can just feel some effort happening in the region. For the groin muscles, I’d gently move the leg out to the side (think of when making a snow angel) while laying on your back and see if that feels like it gently activates the area while the cup is over the sore spot. But again, only move it enough so that it’s gentle and pain-free. Hope this helps!
