HOW to CLEAN the BRAIN--Glymphatic system
The glymphatic system is the analog of the lymphatic system in the CNS
The “glymphatic system” has two primary purposes: one purpose is to serve as a waste clearance system critical for tissue homeostasis and the second is to distribute non waste compounds (glucose, lipids, amino acids, and neurotransmitters) to the brain
Getting more quality sleep: Glymphatic function has been shown to be greatly enhanced while you are asleep. Sleeping on your side: Interestingly, researchers have found that in the brains of mice, the glymphatic system cleared amyloid beta most rapidly when they slept on their sides.
**First, the channels of the glymphatic system fill with cerebrospinal fluid.
**This fluid collects “garbage” like proteins, toxins, and other waste products as it flows along the network.
**Your brain then flushes this waste at different drainage sites, where it moves through your body and exits just like any other type of waste.
Improving glymphatic function through lifestyle interventions and medical management may help mitigate the risk and progression of these diseases.
While sleeping on your side (lateral position) in general is beneficial for glymphatic clearance, research has not definitively established whether the left or right side is superior. However, some studies suggest that sleeping on the right side might be more advantageous for overall cardiovascular health, which could indirectly benefit glymphatic function. Here are a few considerations:
Right Side:
May reduce the pressure on the heart, improving overall cardiovascular function.
Some studies suggest it might be more comfortable and promote better sleep quality.
Left Side:
Can improve digestion and reduce acid reflux, as the stomach and its gastric juices are lower than the esophagus when lying on the left side.
Ultimately, the most important factor is to ensure you are getting quality sleep, as adequate sleep is critical for glymphatic clearance. If you find one side more comfortable or if you have specific health considerations, choose the position that helps you sleep best.
Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) flow is a critical aspect of maintaining central nervous system (CNS) health. The CSF is a clear, colorless fluid that surrounds and cushions the brain and spinal cord, providing mechanical protection, nutrient delivery, and waste removal.

For everything who has lymph issues, if you buy a small trampoline at any sports store (not expensive, easy to store) and jump on it 15-20 min a day (you can do more if you like) it absolutely helps with lymph drainage! It’s fun & effective. Good luck!🍀

Circadian health for the brain and sleep win! Sunrise, outside with bare eyes, as my first light sets my melatonin for that nights sleep. Sunset, again outside with bare eyes, signals my body it's time to release melatonin. Good amber colored blue blockers after sunset is a must, as screen lights are set to the kelvin intensity of noon day, which confuses our innate body clocks. Apps like Twilight block the blue light completely as well. I've not missed a sunrise in nearly 3 years and my sleep and health are supreme at age 60!

I am in excellent health for a man of 55. I exercise, eat right, fast regularly, red light and inversion therapies, etc, and I have no chronic health issues at all, but poor quality sleep has always been my achilles heel. No matter what I do (and I've tried it all) I just can't seem to get much deep sleep, I never have. The strange thing is, I still feel healthy and well rested most of the time. I'm starting to think I just don't need as much sleep as other people because my labs are damn near perfect, with no red flags.
@Franklin-pc3xd
@Franklin-pc3xd 7 ай бұрын
Labs may be perfect, but have you taken an IQ test lately? I'm guessing you'll find your sleep issue is impacting your IQ and that may be the "red flag" you are overlooking. Don't bother with the online "free" IQ tests. Firstly, they probably aren't free because they could end up costing you, big time, down the road when employers, lenders, insurers, partners, etc. mine your IQ data and find out you may be dumb. Secondly, they really are not as reliable as an IQ test you pay to have administered by a professional who agrees to confidentiality.

سبحان الله الرسول عليه الصلاة والسلام قال منذ ١٤٠٠ سنة (إذا أتى أحدكم فراشه؛ فليتوضأ، ثم ليضطجع على جنبه الأيمن) This is a hadith (a saying of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ) from Islamic teachings. It provides guidance on how a Muslim should prepare for sleep. Translation: “When one of you comes to his bed, let him perform ablution, then lie down on his right side.” This hadith emphasizes cleanliness and adopting a specific posture (lying on the right side) as a Sunnah (practice of the Prophet ﷺ) before sleeping.

The glymphatic system plays a crucial role in flushing out toxins and metabolic waste, especially during sleep, which could improve brain health and potentially reduce the risk of neurodegenerative diseases. GREAT summary of how to maintain good overall brain health - which is what the glymphatic system is designed to do!!! One rather nasty error must be pointed out, however: drinking 10, 11, 12 8 ounce glasses of water per day is seldom necessary for optimal health, brain or otherwise..... that said, good hydration (key test is the color of your pee: if it's distinctly yellow, you are under-hydrated and need to drink more) is KEY to good health, since we are after all, 2/3 water.

Certain strains of mold spores in the home/ventilation can cause this along with headaches, congestion, itchy nose/eyes, anxiety, brain fog and various other symptoms. Other allergies can also cause insomnia, as can hyperthyroidism, high cortisol, and various vitamin deficiencies. That’s just a few potential causes to consider, not an exhaustive list.

@@PaulSmith-l5g so about two years ago my wife and I had a black mold infestation in the wall behind our washer and dryer because a pipe from upstairs was leaking. I had numbness and tingling in my head, migraines for 14 days in a row, congestion and trouble breathing, we didn’t check the wall until the symptoms were really bad. I went to a doctor he told me I was imagining my symptoms because I “heard about mold” and everytime I go home now I imagine I’m having symptoms. Anyways we got the wall fixed and the symptoms subsided, but ever since then I haven’t been sleeping, I have horrible brain fog, fatigue, low temperature and pulse, itching eyes, bad congestion, headaches almost everyday. Is there a way to test if I have mold in my system?

Thank you for the other suggestions. I am trying them. Some of these things I have asked my PCP , he says he doesn’t know or simply would not answer. Thank you.

I believe having good company is absolutely fundamental which relates to brain health as well. I'm not sure the amount of social isolation we see today could have been possibly ever in the history. Also, the excessive use of internet seems to be normalized, which is another thing that cannot be good for the brain. It's funny how normalized it all is, like we don't even talk about 'Internet Addiction' no longer.

Are there any tips how "Night shifters"/Night workers" can still benefit from this even if we sleep during daytime? Hoping for some response please.🤞 Thanks and SUBSCRIBED!💯

@@kate7478 Zeolite is a volcanic ash that has a cage-like molecular structure. It pulls harmful chemicals/metals into this cage and transports it safely out of the body without being re-absorbed in the intestine. It is used for detoxing/cleansing tissue, sanitizing the intestine, blood cleansing, regenerates intestinal lining, increases antioxidants, helps with immune system activation, protects from cancer, fights fungal and other infections. There have been many studies on it, particularly in Germany by Dr. Karl Hecht, and also Russian scientists. Dr. Hecht became very old, but what amazed me was when in his mid 90s he still had completely smooth skin. He gave many presentations on it. They are in German though. But I am sure by now many English sources might be available.
