It will be clean. But the cooling properties in it will wear down. The chains in the liquid will start to break reducing it's effectiveness in cooling.

So probably a really stupid question here. Im running EK clear premix, been a year or two (random gaming here and there). Was looking to use the EK loop cleaner and super flush and then use fresh ek clear premix again - my question, where they say 'drain the system of the cleaner and then fill with new fluid' ...how precise do I need to be with that draining? theres always going to be some left in the system isn't there? stuck in a rad, in the pump...or else it would have run itself dry... My loop looks clean, res is clear and happy but needs a fluid top-up. The 4090 is on air, it's just the cpu and motherboard being water-cooled.

Anyways he was talking about complex loop. Each time I drain my system (CPU, vertical GPU, 3 360 fat rads) something around 200-300ml of water is left inside no matter how much i blow into the loop or tilt the case. This also leads to question: Is it ok to drain loop of Superflush and then refill with lets say Mystic Fog? Having some amount of Superflush left inside @@kdnguyen80

Nice to know I don't have to do a 2 day full system clean if replacing my clear coolant with new clear coolant :D My system is a NIGHTMARE with cleaners due to having an FLT80 pump reservoir combo, which pulls in air when at 100% becuase the pump is connected to the power supply with a bridge connector D: And due to this the cleaner perpetually foams like crazy

I used your red coolant and want to go to clear coolant. I drained as much as I can. I used your loop cleaner and still see trades of red in the loop. I assume this is normal as I’m waiting 8 hours.

You guys should really work on your nickel plating. I love the design of your blocks but after having the nickel plating dissolve on every EK block I've ever had.....I am moving on. The final straw was when I broke down my loop this year (after only about 9 months) and the EK nickel plating was dissolved again but my Bitspower GPU block, athough contaminated from the EK nickel plating breakdown, cleaned up quite nicely. Finally proving that it's not me but you EK....moving on guys. And btw, I only use distilled water with 1 drop of biocide and 5 drops of anti-corrosive per liter.....plus the Bitspower block did not have this problem. And I've been doing watercooled builds since 2014.

That's totally false. Distilled water is the purest water you can use. There is nothing in it that would cause it to break down the Nickel plating. The biggest problems accrue when you start mixing metals in the loop. @@Slushkin

Tap water ? You sure ek ? That cant be good! Id sooner use cryofuel clear or distilled to flush
@illustratedquotes

Pure distilled water can damage the nickel plating ... "Despite its benefits, distilled water is particularly corrosive. With no minerals to give the water pH balance, distilled water acts like a magnet, absorbing chemicals (phthalates and bisphenols) from plastics, nickel from stainless steel, aluminum from aluminum containers, and carbon dioxide from the air."
@crax999
@crax999 9 ай бұрын
@@illustratedquotes yeah but most people use it to flush out remains of cleaners etc. before filling the loop with new coolant. Using tap water instead, the new coolant will mix with the small remains of tap water which cant be good since it will leave chalky deposit etc? if distilled water is really that bad to flush the system a few times for cleaner remains or whatever, i'd rather go the clear fluid route and spend that extra money tbh

That's terrible advice to flush with tap water. Use distilled water folks. The goal is to clean the loop, not contaminate it.
@byronfranek2706
@byronfranek2706 9 ай бұрын
Clear coolant is the right approach, IMO. Pure distilled water will begin stripping the nickel plating within hours, and if any untreated distilled water becomes trapped under the o-rings, the coolant may not displace it and you may eventually get some corrosion there.
