The point mentioned at the 8 minute mark is incorrect and goes against the Hadith of Ibn ‘Umar (may Allāh be pleased with him and his father), reported in the two sahīh. وَلاَ تَلْبَسُوا مِنَ الثِّيَابِ شَيْئًا مَسَّهُ زَعْفَرَانٌ وَلاَ الْوَرْسُ “Do not wear clothes touched by saffon or wars (two kinds of perfumes).” Perfume is not to be applied on the ihrām at all. One should apply fragrance on his body, beard, hair etc. This is supported by the Hadīth of ‘Āishah (may Allāh be pleased with her), reported in the two Sahīhs: كَأَنِّي أَنْظُرُ إِلَى وَبِيصِ الطِّيبِ فِي مَفَارِقِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَهْوَ مُحْرِمٌ‏.‏ As if I am now looking at the shine of the hair parting of the Prophet (ﷺ) while he was in the state of lhram.
