I love your channel for these videos. Showing how to perform in Ableton. I am truly shocked (and annoyed) at how few videos are on youtube about people using and explaining ableton live for LIVE. haha. such irony. I bought Ableton for performance. Yet, it seems the vast majority of Ableton users who make KZbin videos all ramble on about how to use ableton live as a traditional DAW. Well, I got news for you, arguably Ableton aint the strongest kid on the block for traditional DAW composing. Its literally made for performance, yet so many KZbinr's do not talk in this context. How did you get the volecity right because from what I understand you can on control the volecity with the program not the keyboard. And have one but use Maschine. And it doesn't allow volecity change in Maschine. But I can adjust the volecity of the Maschine.

Taetro, always love your videos man. When you're doing live finger-drumming, recording into Session View clips, how do you coordinate switching from Session View to Drum Pad mode, without missing your downbeat (beat 1), if you're doing a live jam? Do you use a 2-bar count-in in Preferences, or just a 1? Or do you pre-populate your Session View with blank clips of specified length? I'm so curious about the best workflow for this, with a non-Push 2 controller such as the Mini, or the new Launchkeys. The Launchpads allow you to momentarily change modes (Session / Drum Mode), but this function does not exist with the Launchkeys. And yes, the record button helps you go out of your loop, but I wonder about coming in... and the best way to do it without missing your cue. Thanks, man!

Great video Teatro, I have tried using my mini Mk3 together with Bias FX2 as a way to switch between effects for my guitar but I couldn't. Any advise on how to? The idea is to use BIAS FX2 storing some effects into the quick snaps, and then using the pads for switching between them...

@@pixsled You get Ableton Live Lite for free, so right off the bat you have a good amount to work with on there. But they also give you a good amount of plugins you can use in Ableton or whatever other DAW you're using. Can't really remember what all it gave me but I'd estimate like 8-10 different free plugins with a bunch of diff instruments/sounds/effects. Also u get a free splice subscription for a month.

Mk3 comes with Ableton Live Lite. But better to have Ableton Live Standard or Ableton Live Suite because Lite have limited options!

This is a midi keyboard that means that doesn't have sound itself, but I think the keyboard comes with Ableton live lite and other things enough to begin with, And yeah it's funcional with windows and Mack The tricky part probable could be learn the program, but just type Ableton for beginners watch some tutorial like teatro one and your done jeje Sorry for my English

You can then use the MIDI Map button in Ableton to map the controls of your Launchkey to the device/mixer of Ableton. Features that are not possible without Abelton integration mainly include but are not limited to; Clip Launching, Device Control, Capture MIDI, Transport Control. Hope this helps! ;)

Can you please do an in depth tutorial for beginners about the launchkey mini? The user manual is so helpless to beginners and the information provided by novation on their website in their own tutorial videos is also not for beginners. There is so many steps left out in between doing everything and I cannot find any information that is whole. For example, how do you step by step set up the custom settings? How do you use the arpeggiator and all the commands on the keys step by step? These things aren't intuitive enough to be able to understand how it all works. You do a great job filling in the blanks that are assumed by others with experience, such as your explanation about turning off the arp when you're done recording. I'm borderline losing my mind trying to find a fully informed step by step process about how to use almost any of the things this thing can do.

BTW.. i'm probably gonna go with an Native Instruments keyboard in order to get access to the NKS browsing system, which is pretty much what i want to use, albeit iwth some exceptions. An M32 is cheaper than a S49 or S61.. Which ever Native Instruments Komplete Kontrol keyboard, i'd buy.. i would have no Ableton Grid launcher.. so i'll have to get sth to complement it. I got mine yesterday and I noticed when you played your arpeggiated sequence that the recording didn't start until you triggered a note. this is a function of Ableton live, recording isn’t triggered by the notes, it starts recording on the downbeat after hitting record

I bought one and noticed the top pots or knobs are wobbly af. They feel super cheap and after sending a video as requested to novation, they respond that all of them are like that. It has a 3 year warranty, so I guess I'll find out if it lasts. Very disappointed because a potentiometer shouldn't have ANY wobble, this isn't a kids toy.

This can be disabled by holding the Shift button while powering on the Launchkey Mini MK3. Then press the blue pad so that it turns dim, then press the Play button to start the Launchkey as normal.
