Microsoft seems to have patched almost every known way to remove edge from non eea computers and this will likely still end up being reinstalled after a number of updates. Thanks for this video it still works as of today.

I can't believe it worked. Had no idea you could change the owner like that TY! Although, I still see "Windows Edge Update" there so assuming Windows will just reinstall the shit. Any way to delete the Update and WebView2 Runtime apps?

This did not work on my system. I could not save the mod to the .json file except by booting in WinPE and and editing it there. When I restarted normally, the edit held, and "uninstall" now shows in Settings, but does nothing. Going into the "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\Edge\Application\130.0.2849.46\Installer" directory and running setup.exe --uninstall --system-level --verbose-logging --force-uninstall also has no effect.

You can completely skip all steps shown in video expect the registry one,, how ? :- ONLY IF YOU USE REVO OR SIMILAR LIKE UNINSTALLER WHICH CAN AUTOMATICALLY DETECT AND DELETE ALL FILES RELATED TO MICROSFOT EDGE". and i am confident to day that bcz i have cracked version of revo uninstaller and i did same , so also suggest same for you! but i am not sure that if edge will automatically get back at a time of WIDNOWS UPDATE!

Hi, could you please help me, I'm struggling @ 9.49 When I click on the file 'Edge' the only thing in there is a doc 'Edge .dat' and its empty. many thanks.

If you are in the "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft" Folder, there should be a folder called Edge. Inside of the Edge Folder, there should be an Application Folder. Inside of the Application Folder, there should be a Folder with the version of Microsoft Edge that is installed (i.e. 128.0.2739.42). Inside of that folder, you should have an Installer folder. Inside of the Installer folder there should be a setup.exe file. In the video you can follow along and use that file to uninstall the Microsoft Edge from your computer. If you are not able to find some of those folders, it is possible that Microsoft Edge might not be installed completely or correctly on your system. If that is the case, I might suggest that you reinstall Microsoft Edge on your system and then go through the process of uninstalling Microsoft Edge. If you do need any additional help, please let me know and I will be glad to help you. 🙂

@@farmervillager1376 No I am thinking about dual boot set up with Linux. So in windows I will be playing my games which are not supported in Linux like games for Ubi Ea etc. And use Linux for work, web browsing, and gaming with steam. So this way Microsoft can not collect any of my personal data from me.

If you create the registry key and DWORD in the registry, it is supposed to keep the Microsoft Edge from reinstalling on your machine.

I do turn the updates off on certain computers. That way I can make sure the programs they need will keep working. Also, since most of them are not on the Internet, I know they will not get any viruses, malware, trojans, etc...

I completely agree! I don't want my personal data being collected by companies either 😉
