I was talking to one person for example who said they see salespeople trying to sell these bad products all the time. So they said "I don't want to learn how to persuade and communicate and... and all that because I... I feel like it's... it's... it's unethical" And I said "what if, consider this thought experiment: what if you learned those skills. You were really good at communicating and persuading, and you had a good product. Then you're doing the world of service by being able to convince people to use that product right? And... and they said you know I didn't think about it that way but you're right. If I'm selling something that I know... perhaps there's research I... I have testimonials that's proven that it... it has helped people. Then communication, presentation, storytelling, motivation, persuasion... they can all just help us better achieve that goal. It's a superpower in our skill set and it's something that we should learn. So as with any skill it can be used for those darker ends, but we can use it for good too
