"Taking a picture of something the way we always see it creates a boring image"... this insight is what makes you a great and inspiring instructor, Mike. You should trademark that statement 🙂

Thank you Ruggiero. Though I'm certainly not the 1st to say it and probably won't be the last. Though we are in a minority because the world has sadly been told upgrading kit and gadgets will make exciting images and most are looking for a quick 'hack' fix, which doesn't exist. There are a handful of controls to learn, the rest is down to us. Best wishes buddy... MIKE 🙏🙂

I do a lot of product photography and if I were to photograph motorcycles or Cars, I would fill the frame with the subject using natural light. Trying to show as little of the background as possible. and If I had to show the background I would have it a little blurry. I might also use focus bracketing

Great video and good example of trying things out from different angles and perspectives. I found myself seeing things and wishing you had a faster lens for less depth of field but then that’s just my view as photography is so subjective. Enjoyable video, Mike! I, too, like photographing motorbikes. Sadly, given that I do not own a bike, not one with a motor, anyway, I am restricted to prance around other people's motorbikes parked somewhere crammed in the city, and their shiny shiny bits often reflect something that is of little interest. Speaking of reflections, puddles are rather hard to come by in Sydney, too. - Looking forward to Parts 2 and beyond, and also to further "How to look good in public" instalments. 😊

Not shiny like this one anymore but I've done over 112,000 miles on it (had it from new) and to be honest, it's still my favourite to ride. Don't know much about what's on the market. A you probably know I'm not interested in camera, just photography. Only thing I can suggest if you want to keep costs right down is a used Fuji XT-1 or maybe XT-2 if you like shooting video. It's easier on XT-2 which also shoots F Log so post is easier... But just because I like X series doesn't mean you will so se if you can have a go with one... MIKE

(Alan) What sort of person wants to ride a motorcycle anyway ? :) Nice video Mike, it reminded me of when we were down in your neck of the woods, and a whole load of German bikers arrived at the hotel. There must have been about 25 BMWs in the car park. I preferred the photos taken at the quay side. I expect you were a bit limited by what you could carry, but I kept thinking a longer focal length to blow out the background would have helped. I found the backgrounds at the industrial estate too distracting.....Of course what would have helped, would have been a young lady sitting on the bike in a bikini... :) :)

It sometimes takes several visits to a location before we fully understand it. I'll make another with different bike, lenses etc soon. Sorry you're not keen on the Asia workshop vids. I agree they need to be of a better standard and I'm searching for employee to come film them properly. I can't be teaching and looking after clients and filming good content. Aimong to do more there because the imagery excites me and it's an opportunity to put something back for the wonderful people we meet. Just buying a couple of solar panels, batteries and lights for a village can change the entire course of the kids lives because someone will set up a schoolhouse and they get to learn how to read and write. Thus giving them the ability to make more informed choices about going to the city where they may well end up in a slum. It's my main purpose in life... Have a great 2020... MIKE 🙂

two things in common mike, photography and bikes. I nearly bought a used thunderbird, instead, I bought a new street cup.

I have only one question: How can one afford photography when you have to afford a motorcycle?
@MikeBrowne4 жыл бұрын
That is a tricky question to answer isn't it.....

Looking forward to getting out on my "new" addition to have a run, and play. Gotta work how to take the camera with me - only have a tank bag at present . . .. hmmmm . . . My favourite commentary moment - "stick your ass out and look good in public with Browne . . . . " Hahahaha. If you've got it . . . .

Hi Denise.. You got a new bike? What? What? Tell me... Tell me now... 🤣 Several peole have asked about carrying camera... I wrap it in a sweater and shove it in a daypack... Delighted you enjoyed my style tip... MIKE 🤘👍

It's time to trade in for a Rocket 3.
@MikeBrowne4 жыл бұрын
Hmm. Nicely made and good looking bike the Rocket 3. Did a bike swap with a buddy who had one whilst out one day. Loved the power delivery but wasn't that keen on it. My all time fav bike is my very scruffy Triumph 900 Legend. Had it from new in '99, stiffened up the suspension so handles like a rock on rails, (can scrape the silencers and see off a lot of sports bikers in corners) ride it year round and covered over 112,000 miles on it now. I'll never part with that one... Have agreat 2020 and keep on riding... MIKE 🙂
