No, I would NOT recommend getting one of those clear locks to practice on. They are incredibly easy to open, far easier than any lock you would encounter in reality. Also, picking the lock in this way is the last thing you would do, especially if you need to be fast. There are a couple of other methods you could do using the same tools, or just one or two additional ones which will open many locks in about two seconds or a bit longer. The locks you would choose to pick manually are ones with security pins, which you don't mention.

That's not always the case!! I work as a carpenter /joiner and people are always damaging locks or losing keys and are in need of getting in to their home or garage or whatever so it's a bit presumptuous to make a comment like that. use your brain next time!!
