You absolutely nailed what I've been going through in the last few years, Roberto. I've been realizing more and more that my channel is incredibly limited in its ability to be profitable. I have a younger audience without much disposable income meaning that it's difficult for fans to support me and sponsors directly. The audience is also fractured by all of the different franchises that I discuss. Finally, I also think the film video essay and "theory" content of the past have shifted into two extremes. Either creators are making half hour to multiple hour long productions that go into massive depth on a topic or ideas are being shared through short form content. One is hard to produce and the other doesn't monetize at all. There are times where I struggle to see a future for my channel.

Thank you for your response to my question. I appreciate your expertise and breaking it down for us. I do want this to be an additional source of income besides my full time job. My niche is closet/wardrobe editing & lifestyle. I am working on a service, ebook and when I can affiliate marketing.

The biggest issue i have is about deciding the niche of my channel. There are few things that i can build it on, but i havent been able to pick from any of them. Mostly cause i dont have friends, nor a circle to debate directly with anyone of what are the pros and cons, or even create ideas about the channel.

1:31:17 i think a lot of the problems with those kind of channels is that they tiptoe around giving financial advise because theyre not licensed and able to actually provide it. The amount of times you hear "this is not financial advice" is giving me vibes of "tobacco use only" 😂
