Would be more interested in scenarios where the squad and/or expectations suit a tactic that isn't the meta of the game (not high line, pressing, attacking football). When is the meta of the game more important than squad strengths and expectations?

Problem is, that if you play a high line, attacking and pressing tactic, you’ll always be fine. The meta always win in the end.

To be honest, I'm a lot more interested in learning how you play the game as opposed to other streamers, as I don't have the time to spend hours upon hours experimentally tweaking one tactic! I would love to learn more about how you play, e.g. transfer policy, planning for the future, player interactions, scouting, training, etc.

Mainly the first 11, since your best players will be in the first 11, especially at a big club like Barca where your best players are probably quite good

What if you’ve got an old team, but lots of wonder kids? Do you set the tactic to get the wonder kids game time or just for your current best 11?

Depends on what you value more between winning and developing the wonder kids. Wonder kids only need to get 6.75 match ratings or above to develop, so just make sure your tactic has a role that they can get that rating in

Is it too risky to play a 2-star CA GK if they have a 5-star potential? I've done it a few times and it didn't backfire, though I was managing mid table teams that were good enough to have decent chances of overperforming anyway. Not sure if it would be a good choice with a club with high expectations, just curious.

It's very difficult for a goalkeeper to develop without first team playing time, so you either have to send him out on loan or play him and accept he might not perform straight away. Personally I'm happy to accept the short term risk for the long term reward, and as a mid table team I'd say that's perfect to give him playing time. I'd just make sure you've got a good backup goalkeeper, maybe someone better than your youngster who'll accept a backup role, in case things go really wrong.

Depends on GK too but whatever happens make sure he gets to play. Its really dificult to find 5* potential and not rubbish young GK. I would keep playing him if he keeps up with your overall trajectory. When you look like pushing up the table and GK cant keep up then loan and get a old GK for a year or two then see how much progress there is. In real life too good and younger than 23 - 25yo goalkeepers are a rare thing.

love the idea of this video, this is super helpful. would like to see you try it at a different club, mainly because 1) barca have a lot better players overall than most clubs, which obviously makes building a tactic easier, 2) the assistant coaches are probably excellent, meaning you can really trust the star ratings a lot more than if you're managing a lower league club for example, and 3) barca probably have the clearest tactical identity of any club in the world, so the supporters' requirements are more important than at most clubs, which gives you a bigger hint on how to build the tactic anyway i love this video and i think it would be super cool if you posted a similar explanation of your tactical thinking when you join your next club. cheers kev!

I do I think opposition instructions make a difference, well on console anyway it seems to, I had 5 seasons finishing between 12 and 19 the season I discovered you can ask your assistant manger who to mark tightly show on to foot etc I got promoted with Chorley. I just start the match go on opposition instructions and ask assistant manager, I do it at the start of each half and when they make subs, my results have definitely improved since I found that option.
