Nope! Put the puck on the heel, flex your stick down and the puck will slightly lift off the ice from the pressure. Once you’ve got that you just sweep around and flip the blade and the puck just comes up. HowToHockey has an awesome tutorial called “5 ways to pick up the puck” you’ll get it within a few trys! It’s also easier on ice than a puck board. Good luck!
