@QRPSchool4 жыл бұрын
I hope you will find that the (predominantly) old hams are very welcoming of the younger generation into the hobby. It always makes me happy to see anyone under 50 (!) take an interest in amateur radio. There are so many facets to this hobby and I think there's something for everyone. It may take a while for you to discover what interests you the most... satellite communications, Moon Bounce, digital communications, low-power battery-operated radios in the field (my fave), DX (long-distance communications), SOTA, POTA, etc. I got my original licenses when I was 26 years old. I played around with it for a while and then got busy with other things. I came back to it later and have cycled into/out of it a few times over the years. You may do the same and that's okay! But, without an influx of young people in the hobby, amateur radio will slowly fizzle out over the next 20 years as older hams reach their natural expiration date. You may have 1,000 questions and if I can be of any help, don't hesitate to reach out to me. I don't claim to have all the answers but I know people who do.
