Thank Heavens for KZbin! Finding wonderful help videos like yours is allowing me to progress from a forever beginner to a kinda sorta intermediate knitter. Being able to correct errors is THE most important part of knitting. Thank you, thank you!

Thank you for this video. After I watched your video I watched the video by "So Woolly" : How to fix mistakes when knitting the Fisherman's rib stitch. She also shows how to pick up stitches when the needle is off, but also what to do when you dropped a stitch to way below. That was a good thing to learn. I just thought you and others might want to know.

I can't thank you enough. I was about 4 feet into a scarf with the Fisherman's Rib design when I realized that I'd dropped a stitch about 10 rows down. I had already found this particular site a while ago (when I decided to try the stitch) and thought I'd take a chance. I unraveled the 10 rows, followed your directions (the first time I got it backwards and had to take out 2 rows again but second time's a charm) and I'm back on track. Your instructions were so clear and the way you shot it made it so easy to follow. I'm so glad you decided to post. Thanks again.

I don’t know how anyone could leave a thumbs down...this tutorial saved my jumper when I had to unpick about 10 rows as decreased too many on sleeves decreases on the back of my jumper, I thought I was going to have to bin the project, but this video was so easy to follow and I am now back up and running

Thank you so much for this video. I'm working fisherman's rib in the round, so the ladders actually ended up at the back of the work. As I was continuing the pattern, I couldn't figure out why I was getting loops of yarn hanging from my stitches. Your video is demonstrating that there's an additional step to fix it, so I am very grateful that you posted this. I'll be purling the ladders, so hoping everything still comes together and I don't have to frog the whole thing. 🤞

Wow. You’re a genius for figuring this out. I did, however, get a little nervous at the point where, after knitting across the row I turned my work and saw all wrapped stitches?! (My original work didn’t resemble this at all, so I couldn’t see how this could work.) BUT I went with it anyway and, miraculously, it absolutely did work! Thank you so very much!!!

Brilliant! Thank you very much. I have just started a project in fisherman's rib - a copy of a sweater I bought 30 years ago which is finally due for retirement. 1inch in and I have already made a mistake and was contemplating having to put in a safety line every 10 rows or so. Knowing how to correct a dropped stitch is much easier.

Oh my gosh! I can’t believe I found this! You are a knitting angel! It took me three times to get it right, but for some reason my “ladders” needed to be the opposite of yours, but once I figured that out and got all the stitches where they needed to be, I was back in business and I would never have figured out that stitch anatomy by myself! A million thanks!

This was helpful in picking up my stitches, but my pattern is p1, k1b. I was confused when you knit every stitch after picking them up. Should I do something different to continue my pattern?
@courtneyspainhower85285 жыл бұрын
Yes indeed! The fisherman's rib is a bit more like brioche so they manner in which the stitches are worked is different. For twisted rib (p1, k1b), I suggest searching a how-to for that specific technique.
