Yes, the voice is soothing as well. I just started piping and I swear these tutorials have me piping like I’ve been at it for years! I love it, and subscribed and watch almost daily! Now, I need to get the buttercream together, it’s always runny after awhile. 😢

thanks for watching! and for the kind words, we are so glad that you are finding our tutorials helpful. if your buttercream gets soft after a while during a long practice session try making yourself more that one bag so you can switch out regularly and when needed don't be afraid to dump the contents of your bag and reload with some new bc and that should help with the meltyness(it happens to everyone).

I might be tired as well, but im finding your voice so soothing, is that strange?!? I genuinely clicked on it to get the tutorial as im decorating tomorrow and ended up just like feeling really soothed hahaha. Lovely tutorial, you have a great teaching manner about you if that makes sense.

thanks for the kind words LJ and you are not the first person to mention my voice. I know a lot of folks find decorating stressful especially when they are just starting out. So I really try to go with what I hope is a calm, gentle and soothing tone. I find decorating always goes better when you are relaxed and calm. I hope the decorating project goes well tomorrow!

Hi Amy. Love your teachings so talented. Have a question? I’m doing a wedding ring cookie using plum and Iris colors. What kind of flower would look good on a 4” cookie cutter? Using both colors. Also could you do a tutorial of a cookie using royal icing.
@CakeDecoratingSchool Жыл бұрын
Hi Debra! thanks for the question! I'm not sure if you are looking for a large flower or a small one since there are so many ways to do cookies. I usually want flatter style flowers so mine are easy to wrap up , but that mightn't be the case for you. There are a bunch of flowers that look great in purples. Violets are a great small one, Pansies and Dashes are wonderful larger ones. We haven't done royal icing cookies here since we are trying to keep the focus on cake, but it's great to know that is something people are interested in. Cheers and good luck with the order!

Love your tutorials. Beautiful work. Nice to see mistakes happen and how to rectify it! Can this be done with Swiss meringue buttercream?
@CakeDecoratingSchool Жыл бұрын
thanks! I think mistakes are one of the best ways to learn so I always leave them in the videos and then talk about how to fix them, I feel like it gives a much better learning experience. Yes you can make these with Swiss meringue. and they would be lovely!

I have SUCH hot hands, to where my hands CONSTANTLY make my flowers get shiny and droopy. Do I need to just keep refrigerating my frosting as I go? My mum's always look like ones that grow on the surface of the sun. 😂
@CakeDecoratingSchoolАй бұрын
that is a very common problem so don't get to down about it. It's something we all have to figure out how to work around and typically requires a bit of tweaking on how you work to help things get better. It's a little too much to cover in a comment so we actually made a video about it that you might want to check out. kzbin.info/www/bejne/r5yYhmV6ath4aaM

Do you release pressure before you release the tip from the petal or as you release the petal. Thanks
@CakeDecoratingSchool5 ай бұрын
great question! I go for stopping pressure on the bag right after I release the petal, if your still squeezing as you end the petal you'll get a bit of a taper on the end ideally(doesn't always happen) that will give it a bit more of a natural feel. It's a lot like making a leaf where you are pulling a little quicker at the end while still squeezing to get the point on the ends of the leaves.

Is the buttercream you use for cupcake decoration suitable in hot weather?
@CakeDecoratingSchool Жыл бұрын
Hi! It will hold up in warm weather. Since it's an American style it will get a light crust on it that will help it stand up. I've done wedding cakes with this that have gone to venues without climate control in august and they stood up to the heat. It will melt if it gets hot enough and I would never put it out in direct sun. For cupcakes I always recommend putting them out right before service in hot weather just to prevent any problems and I always transport in coolers. There are other kinds of buttercream that will stand up to heat better like a Swiss or Italian meringue which might be better if you live in an area that gets lots of high temps. Hope this helps!

Can I use tip 59 instead of 81?
@CakeDecoratingSchool19 күн бұрын
that should work, the petals wont' have as much depth to the curve in them but it should still give you a very similar look for the finihsed flower. If you give it a try please le us know how it goes!
