This video will show you how to pitch to investors in under 2 minutes without the aid of any slides.
More videos and coaching are available here: www.nathangold....
When you are given the opportunity to pitch your company and all you have is a microphone and a panel of investors waiting for you to pitch, you need to be well scripted and rehearsed for the performance.
Without a script indelibly inscribed in your brain, you will usually run over on time, not cover everything you wanted to talk about, or worse, completely lose your way. This cannot and should not be an extemporaneous talk where you condense your 10 minute presentation into 2 minutes.
The real purpose of the 2 minute pitch is to convince an investor to ask you questions that will ultimately lead to one of two outcomes. Either they will like you enough to continue talking with you or they can become a resource for you to leverage at some time in the future.
Recently, at the VCTaskforce in Palo Alto, California, 10 companies were given 2 minutes to pitch to a panel of angel investors. These were who's who in Silicon Valley, such as Tom Cervantez co-founder of the Harvard Angels, Raffy Chatav from Silicom Ventures, John Ryan from Band of Angels, and Paul Twombly from Keiretsu Forum. You should see what these people give as feedback to people who obviously have not really prepared for the event.
Speaking of preparing, that is exactly what this video is all about. You will learn how to have a great opening that will capture the attention of the listener. Following that, you'll be able to clearly articulate the value of your business by answering 6 questions on the minds of your investors.
After watching this video, you will clearly understand and know how NOT to sound the S.A.M.E. as other presenters. And, you'll be able to effectively use the Columbo Close, a powerful attention-getting tool, as the last words the investor will hear from you.
The information contained in this video is the result of the last 6 years of delivering workshops and coaching real people who are raising capital. It's the same information I give out in the first coaching session along with an important homework assignment. This is not a sales presentation to get you to hire me. This video contains only "solid nourishment" and no "empty calories" to waste your time or money.
Here are a few who used this approach:
-Glue Networks raised $4.5 million from Angels
-Education.com raised $9.2 million Series B
-Sim Ops Studios raised $3 million Series A
-Abulla received 6 calls from VC's after a 7 minute presentation
-Zazingo went into due diligence after their first meeting with a VC

I have been an entrepreneur for over 13 years from a small Indian town. After 13 years, I am pitching for the first time :) I always worked with my own money. Nathan you have no ideas what a change some of your videos have made to my life. I am preparing my pitch for a product that would change the way our kids gets our time forever. Whether I succeed of not is a irrelevant, because your words, points and coaching has literally changed my whole perspective. I have always used your methods without knowing they existed and their impact. After listening to you, it's just got moulded into a beautiful structure of information presentation. If I succeed, I am going to come back here thanking you for your contribution towards an impact for future. Even otherwise, I just want you to thank you for your efforts in making changes in entrepreneur's life. More power to you sir.

Nathan is right on the mark! 80-90% of entrepreneurs fail miserably at this. Here is a precise, step-by-step road map for scripting the most important two minutes in the life of an entrepreneur. At lease ones that want to raise money.

Just thought I'd leave a note of thanks for this great video. I gave my first investor pitch yesterday, using your tips as a guide. I'm fairly sure that we hit it out of the ballpark. Most valuable tips for our presentation (not a pitch), was our intro metaphor, and the closing "leave you with this final thought". Many thanks!

Thank you for making this video. I have been having such a hard time creating a pitch image for a funding campaign, it's for an invention that I'm trying to get put into production, so I can't talk or write about the product, cause of patent issues, so it's been tough coming up with a pitch image until I saw your video. Ssup bro! I'm also in high school, and I'm already interested! I personally think that people don't really care if you are the business end of the company or the math geek in this case. They care about your product and how it will benefit them. Possibly get someone who knows how to pitch ideas. Its scary at first and you stutter(I know I did) but you get the hang of it...

What a great video. I am about to do my 2 min pitch and this is just what I need :) Your model is almost similar to what I planned to do. And I love the closing bit, great tip. I do however have a question, and I believe there are many people would ask too: is that wise to use a powerpoint when it is possible? And how should I prepare for it? Animate? 4 slides max?

Thanks for watching and thanks for asking. I travel all of the time. I am heading to Norway twice in May and to Moscow first week of June. In addition to this, I have 3 more trips in the planning right now for Europe and Scandinavia. What are you thinking about? Maybe a live workshop for entrepreneurs with brainstorming leading to newer more compelling ways for people to articulate what they do so investors and customers move toward them instead of away? I'm all ears.

What are your ideas on Simon Sinek's golden circle and starting with your "why" ?
@NathanGold
@NathanGold 9 жыл бұрын
Simon gives you one of the most crucial lessons in presenting your ideas. His golden circle of why, what and how is excellent and a great model to work from. The why is ultimately the most important part of your presentation for investors because that is where the real problem should be easily identifiable by the listener.
@Zoanodar
@Zoanodar 9 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your swift reply! Are you saying the "why" is in the opening?... Our "why" is the answer to the unmet need/problem, yes? I think I'm beginning to put one and one together - thank you for helping out, Nathan.
@NathanGold
@NathanGold 9 жыл бұрын
Roman Korver Yes indeed it is! In fact, I wish I could correct my note above. I totally agree with the approach of Why, How, and then What. By telling people the why first, it should generate some emotional response to your problem. Following that by the How you will do what you do is next. Then, you tell them what you are doing to fix the problem/Unmet need. Okay?
