The way I learned it was, I got pressured by a kid to "just do it" :) Fell 2 times on my butt exactly the same way and the 3rd time decided to go down as if I am jumping off into my death. Completely vertical to surface I am dropping down on. Turns out if you actually just "drop in" it's really easy. Now I imagine I am jumping off a building every time I drop in :)

Yassss! You referred me to this video from the double pivot comments, and I went out this week and nailed it on my first try! lol, the second one I ate it leaning too far fwd and hit the toe stops 😂, but I got some solid practice in and started to work on plate stalls! I’m going back to the indoor spot I found today to try and work on fakie drop ins!

Hey Shorty. Awesome content and best tutorials I've actually seen. Almost every tutorial translates to blades as well (which is great for me since I'm blader). One request for you from my GF (also blader): How to learn to pump up to the coping and then pivot on it and roll onto the deck from there? So basically "jump out" without jumping :) I can do it myself and I know it's like mostly about right pump force / speed and confidence. But anyway, maybe there are some tips and tricks? :) And sorry if you have mentioned this somewhere already. Keep up the good work! Thank you!

Thank you! How I like to think about it is, pump up the transition pushing the power through your heels, lift your toes/ front wheels of your skates to roll onto the coping. Once you lock onto the coping with the H block you need to shift your weight from your heels into your toes/ front of the skates and it will pivot your body around the coping and land the front wheels onto the deck to be able to roll away. I hope this helps! I might look to do a quick video some and demo in quads and blades.

Hi shorty. Any chance you'll be doing a tutorial on 5050s on a ledge? Thank so much and I love your videos! They've been so helpful.

It's on my list but I'm waiting for the new Bont grind trucks to come out so I can do it properly. In the meantime you can DM your progress on IG and I can have a look for you.

@@ShortysSkateSeries oh ok can’t wait! I haven’t even really tried them bc finding the placement and balance to do them is very tricky for my right now.

You’re right about learning and falling backwards. I was able to drop in on the smallest and most mellow ramp but when I moved to a 3.5 foot I totally fell backwards and hit my head. Thank goodness for helmets. It shook me up so much I didn’t try again. In hindsight I wish I had tried again.

Me too! I’m afraid of the steeper ramps because I’ve already fallen directly on my butt a couple of times. Or I face plant. I think I was missing the transfer of weight from the back leg to both legs evenly. But I still haven’t done it yet

Hey Short. Your tutorials are excellent. I have had good success with some skatepark stuff from watching them. Just wondering what type of 360 camera you use. Im just researching before buying one and would like to know what's good and what's not so good. Thanks
@ShortysSkateSeries Жыл бұрын
Sorry for the delay. I has the Insta360 One X2 but then upgraded to the X3. I love these cameras so much. Especially since I skate solo a lot so I just have to set it up, hit record and reframe it later.

Yes. But it will be a different feeling. You can check out my blocks vs no blocks for a visual. kzbin.info/www/bejne/r5i0n5qbrbB9aMU
