We go through the 5 steps to learning how to "drop" a concave ramp with coping on it.
Always make sure to wear appropriate protective equipment when aggressive rollerblading.

We never had the opportunity to skate ramps in the early 90's in Germany, so I decided to go with street spots only. Last year at the age of 41 I slowly started to learn transition skating and it was a hell of fun. Atm I am able to grind coping or throw a fakie 360 out of the quarter. I am so hyped, never thought that these things can happen. It's never to late, take care, wear your protective gear and keep on rolling guys. And another big thanks for your energy Ben 👍

I always tell friends to learn to sit in first and they never want to, imma spam them your video. Seat drops are way safer IMO, and teach you how to stay low and strong in your stance

I’ve been watching your channel for a while and finally bought some blades this year. Today was my first day on transition and this video probably saved me a ton of extra falls. Thanks for all the how to tips!

Jump in or roll in was easier for me. Standing on the cope always intimidated me.

I’ve been skating since 1996 and I’ve always been scared to drop in. After only reading the title of this I went to the skatepark and jumped into a ten foot half pipe. Thank you so much

Can you please do one of these with rolling drop-ins? I used to be able to do them but am now scared AF to do them and I feel I gotta re-learn how to roll and drop in. :/ (I can drop in like you say all day long. I just can't roll and hop in lol.

Weirdly i jumped in WAY before i could drop in from my frames/H block 😅 no idea why. But i always hit it on an angle. Still hate dropping in straight vert

Me too, I guess I was scared of getting hung up on the coping like on a skateboard.

@@Ginganinja3181 thats probably another reason for me subconsciously i hadnt even thought of. Good point. Back then, i think i just felt better feeling like i was jumping *at* something, rather than down it. Idk lol

My local park has several roll-in transition areas 3,5,6’. I can tackle all these pretty confidently. But the shorter transition with coping (like 3’) looks intimidating just because of the tight radius. Do you think a 4 or 5’ w coping would be a better places to start? Or start with the lowest coping I can find?

I think I might have been caught out by the smaller ramp. I tried to learn to skate a quarter today and the smallest one I could find was a 3.5ft wooden half pipe. I fell backwards a couple of times and felt like I'd been beaten up by the end of the day. Someone suggested it was too 'whippy' to learn on skates, and to try and bigger, more spaced out quarter pipe section in a concrete bowl. Obviously not all mini ramps have the same steepness in the transition, but definitely sometimes smaller isn't easier.

Im gone try this weekend. My ramps are really steep. But i think i got it. Mabe to fast for 1 week of inline? 🤨
@iRollerboot
@iRollerboot 2 жыл бұрын
That’s unfortunate. I would slowly roll up and down them from flat and keep increasing speed. I believe in you. ☀️
